"MOVE KENWAY MOVE," Anna screamed, mashing buttons furiously on her controller.

She was currently playing Assassins Creed: Black Flag, her favorite game. Well, it was usually her favorite game. Unfortunatley, something seemed wrong with her controller as the main character, Edward Kenway, decided to do actions that Anna didn't want him to do. Such as sprinting into a restricted warehouse area past 10 guards in plain sight, and then proceeding to only move every other button mash. Anna cried out in anguish as she desynchronized and Edward fell to the sandy path, bloody and beaten. With a sigh, she raked her fingers through her long, golden bangs, beaten for today. She'd have to look up how to fix her controller later.

Pulling herself up from her comfortable spot in her gaming chair, she exited to the main menu and waited by the playstation to turn it off. Of course, her controller worked perfectly then. Perhaps she had glitched out after her last death, consisting of more button mashing and curses. Perhaps she only needed to reset her system, but she'd had enough for one day.

But before she could logout of the game, the box in the top right corner of the menu screen caught her eye.

Free? Endless hours of gameplay? The "beta test" part was a little concerning, as Ubisoft never gave out Beta Tests to fans, but maybe thats why it was free. So Anna took a chance and clicked on it, waiting for the automatic login. The loading icon swirled round and around for a few minutes boringly. Anna began to lose patience and suddenly, with a sad descending whir, the system crashed and turned off. Along with the rest of the lights in the house.

"Oh GREAT," she grumbled, searching around for her phone for light.

She yelped suddenly as the playstation made a loud cracking noise, like it had broken in two. Anna grabbed at her phone and turned on the flash light, trying to check out the damage to her poor old platform. She kneeled down next to the device to find it unharmed, but making a vicious whirring noise, while the power button flashed on and off in a bright blue.

Anna pressed at the eject button, worrying for her disk inside. But as soon as the click of the button sounded, she felt a surge of electricity and saw a flash of bright blue, and then only blackness.

Warm. It was very warm and cozy. Anna could feel the sun on her face as she snuggled into the thin woolen blanket that covered her. She also heard laughter. Giggles of women and the occasional chuckle of a man. She cracked open her eyes to see the new room she lay in. The floors were wooden and chipped with cracked brown paint, and the walls were covered in scuffed, flowery-striped wallpaper. A chipped-white, wooden border lay around the bottom edge and a matching window let in soft rays of sunshine through the open shutters. A small, oak nightstand sat beside her tiny bed, holding only a wooden brush and a small wooden tray with an apple and a thin slice of bread upon it. The door to her small room was to her left on the other side of the room, and she could her the sound of heels clicking closer. The door creaked open and in came a dirty looking women with messy auburn locks cropped to her shoulders, and dark brown eyes.

"Anna!" she gasped angrily, placing her hands on her broad hips.

"You were supposed to be ready minutes ago! Caroline and I were waiting downstairs for you!" she scolded.

Anna blinked confused.

"I-I'm sorry?" she asked, sitting up on the womans arrival.

"Damn straight you're sorry!" she grumbled, stomping over and grabbing the brush off of the nightstand.
