Familiar Faces

It's been a few hours. They've been on the road heading to their new home. The longer they drive the more and more land they see. They thought there would be more buildings,but all they see if farms and trees. The few houses they've passed where huge. "is our house going to be big like theirs?" Genji asked, putting his head between the driver and passenger seats. Papa shimada shook his head smiling. About 30 minutes go by and they feel the car slow down. "we're here!" papa shimada said as they pulled into the driveway. Genji and hanzo look out the window and see their new home. It's a pretty big, old looking house with very nice flower all over. The yard goes on for miles and there's trees everywhere. "wow" hanzo said as he got out and walked up the driveway. Genji got out and ran around in the yard "this place is huge!"  hanzo looked back at his father "can we go inside ?" papa shimada  nodded and tossed them the key. Hanzo opened the the door and stepped inside. Genji followed close behind him. "wow" genji looked around. there was lots of space and house looked as if no one hand been there for a long time. hanzo went into the living room. It had a hard wood floor and were a few chairs left from the previous owner. Genji wondered into the kitchen. It was an ugly tan color and it looked like the paint was pealing off the wall. "This house is old...and gross" hanzo said walking back to the front door. Genji looked around the kitchen more, he looked out the window over the sink. "han,come look!" genji yelled. Hanzo sighed and went over to genji. He preyed open and old door that kinda blended in with the wall. "it leads outside" genji turned to hanzo and smiled as he stepped out. "It's a back yard,come back in before something gets inside" hanzo stood at the door looking around. There was nothing but trees back there and it was honestly a little spooky. "hey,hanzo...i think someone it back here" genji walks a little closer. hanzo looks and sees the shadow of a stranger just a few feet away from them. he quickly runs and grabs genji "go inside, now" hanzo says as he drags genji inside ,keeping his eye on the stranger. they've clearly seen them but don't look like their going to do anything . hanzo doesn't trust anyone so he keeps a close eye on them. "go get father" hanzo told genji,never taking his eyes off the stranger. genji runs off to get their father. while hanzo is watching the stranger,another appears. They seem to be an adult, a lot taller then the first. They look at each other and the shorter one points towards hanzo. "uh?!" hanzo gets a little scared and backs up some, he glances over his shoulder to see if his father is close. The taller one stays as the shorter one walks closer to the house. "father!" hanzo starts to panic a bit. Genji runs up to hanzo "he coming " they watch the person get closer and closer,getting a little more freaked out. "papa!" they both yell and run to their father. "hold on" papa shimada says as he places a few boxes down. He's no to freaked out ,he assumes they just saw someone passing by.It's a big area after all and a few people live around them. "look!" genji points outside ,but there's nothing there. genji and hanzo look to see that the two people are gone. "but...they..." hanzo muttered as he stepped outside and looked around confused. papa shimada pats their heads "it was probably just a child playing in the woods, a few others live around us" hanzo turns around and walks inside "no...there were two, one adult and a child" papa shimada smiles "it's fine, you're just a little on guard because this is a new area" hanzo huffs and walks off. genji closes the door and says nothing. They spend the day unpacking. They unpack most of the boxes. genji  is downstairs playing and papa shimada is asleep. hanzo is up in his room bored and wanting to get out of that old creepy house. hanzo sits up and sighs. "i'm getting out of here" hanzo said as he got up. he climbed out his window and sat on the roof. he looked at the sky and smiled "no matter where you go the stars are always there". he climbed down very quietly. papa shimada would kill him if he knew he had left. hanzo isn't the best with controlling himself. hes a lot more wild and in tune with his animal side the genji and his father. being around humans is hard for him. hanzo walked into the woods and wondered around for a while. it was about one in the morning and everything was completely dark. hanzo let his ears and tail be free and had a good time feeling the air,dirt, and trees. he climbed a tree and sat in it thinking and watching the stars. "stupid Reyes!" Jesse yelled,stomping through the woods. hanzo looked down and saw him. he stayed quiet and watched from the tree as he passed under him. when he got a good distance away hanzo climbed down and followed. "always on my case!" Jesse kicked up some dirt and stopped walking. hanzo stood behind a tree watching. Jesse sat down and put his hat over his face, curling up. hanzo sniffed to get his sent. "you're the one from before.." hanzo said to himself. he stepped out of hiding and approached Jesse slowly. as he reached Jesse'e feet he pulled out a knife,stopping right at hanzo's throat. "uh?!" hanzo froze. "who the hell are you?" Jesse looked up slowly as he slid his hat back on his head. he gasped when he saw hanzo. hanzo slowly went down to all fours and let out a low growl. Jesse set down his knife slowly and put his hands up. "i'm not gonna hurt you..." Jesse said as he reached out to hanzo. hanzo growled louder"don't touch me!"Jesse quickly moved his hand back "i'm sorry". hanzo backed up, crossing a patch of moon light.  Jesse saw hanzo's eye shine in the moon light. "do i know you?" Jesse asked,leaning in. hanzo stood up "no, that's not possible I've never lived in america till today". Jesse picked up his knife and stood up. "no...i know you" he said as he inched closer to hanzo. "stay back " hanzo said in a firm tone. Jesse continued to get closer "i just want to see you". hanzo hid his ears and tail just as Jesse got close. Jesse stepped in front of hanzo and looked into his eyes. Jesse was suddenly hit with a memory from his childhood. "i...ha....hanzo,right?...i think that's what your name was". hanzo was a bit freaked out. how could this stranger know him,they've never seen each other before. "how do you know my name ?"hanzo grabbed Jesse by his shirt. "you came here when you were a kid...the beach,remember?" Jesse said calmly. hanzo recalled the memory. papa shimada had a business trip in america and brought genji and him along. they had a nice hotel by the beach. genji ate lots of ice cream and got sick on the way back to the hotel. hanzo examined Jesse's clothes . "the cowboy?" hanzo asked as he let Jesse go. Jesse smiled and nodded "yup that me".  hanzo blushed and backed away into the dark "i have to go". Jesse reached out to him "no wait" hanzo ran away before he could say anything else. hanzo went back home and sat on the roof, his head in knees. genji walked by his room and saw him outside the window. "hanzo!" genji went to the window and stuck his head out "what are you doing, you could head yourself". hanzo didn't respond. genji climbed out and sat next to hanzo. "are you alright ?" genji asked. hanzo stayed silent for a few seconds. "i...i remember everything" hanzo said quietly. genji scooted closer "what are you talking about ?" hanzo lifted his head from his knees. "the cowboy...i remember  him" hanzo looked at his feet.  "cowboy" genji asked, confused. "from the beach" hanzo explained. genji was very young but he remembered him too. "oh the boy you met when we first came to america as children" genji smiled. hanzo nodded . Genji was still a bit lost. why would hanzo mention something like that and why would he be so...sad. "wait...did you see him or something" genji asked.  "yeah" hanzo said . "isn't that a good thing?" genji smiled  happily. hanzo shook his head "remember the things i told you when i was ten, about my feelings?" genji thought for a moment. "i...oh,that was because of him?" genji looked down. hanzo looked at genji. They looked at each other "you still cant tell father" hanzo said. genji said nothing. "promise !" hanzo begged . genji hugged hanzo "i promise,han". they sat there for a bit,then went inside. "hey han?" genji said looking at the floor. hanzo looked at him ." dose he live around here?" genji asked. "i didn't ask but i assume so". genji said nothing and left. morning came. hanzo was out cold while genji was getting ready for school. "genji go wake your brother!" papa shimada yelled. "Hai!" genji responded. he went to hanzo's room and knocked a few times before walking in. "hanzo come on,we'll be late if you sleep any longer" genji shook hanzo lightly. he didn't respond. Genji picked up a pillow and hit hanzo on the head "get up!" hanzo grabbed the pillow and turned over, yanked it away from genji. "ah!" genji backed away. hanzo slugged got out of bed,his hair was messy and covering his face. he looked up slowly, his eyes glowing yellow.  "toridasu!" hanzo yelled as he threw the pillow at genji,hitting him in the back of the head. Genji ran out as hanzo slammed the door behind him. hanzo sighed and laid on the floor "i don't wanna go to school"
