It was a hot Saturday Morning and Sam was picking the dry leaves in her mini garden in their backyard when she heard a noise inside their house. It was just yesterday when she had the longest dream of seeing a goat which seems so real. It still gives her the chills.

Sam slowly walked towards the back door of their house when she saw her sister going out of the door. "Good Morning Sam!" says Roxy with a yawn. "Good Morning Rox, did you hear something unusual in the house?" asks Sam with curiosity in her eyes. "Yah, actually it was me, I broke the kettle." says Roxy with a smile. "Oh no! how do we suppose to boil water now?" Sam answered with anger and sadness in her voice and at the same time relief on what she thought was another episode of her dream.

Roxy just smiled and helped Sam in picking up the dry leaves. "I'm sorry sis. I'm not gonna do it again." explained Roxy. "That's okay." answered Sam. The two of them spend the rest of the morning cleaning, watering, and planting  in the mini garden.

Afternoon came and the two have finished what they were doing in Sam's mini garden. So, they decided to rest and watch TV. As for Sam, she continued reading her favorite book entitled "The Dream".

Sam is fund of reading books. When she was still young her mother, Rose, loves to read books for her until she falls asleep. When she was in high school she started to collect books from all genre. When she reached the age of 17 she started to explore more and read books with deeper meanings.

The book, "The Dream" was given by her father on her 17th birthday. It was the last gift she received from him before he passed away. That's why it's her favorite book.

The book was about dreams and what they mean. It focuses on the mystery of why people have dreams and where do dreams come from. It somehow helped her on what she is experiencing when she turned 17.

It started after her 17th birthday. She began dreaming of unusual things like talking lions, magical wands, disappearing person, and a lot more. But she don't know how these dreams started and why does every dream seems so real. She just thought that maybe it's an effect of reading the book but it seems to her that the book is helping her in understanding her dreams.

Sam is now in the 17th chapter of the book which is composed of 25 chapters. She decided to stop reading and called Roxy to call their mother who is working as a secretary of the CEO of PAINTED CORP. in Toronto, Canada.

She asked her sister to call their mother for she suddenly missed her and to ask something very important.

"Later Sis! Gotta finish the show first." answered Roxy while laughing at the show that she's watching. "Come on! The show can wait." says Sam with irritation in her voice. "Nope it can't" Roxy answered. "Roxy! Do you know what day is tomorrow?" says Sam with anger and sadness in her eyes.

Roxy paused and turned off the TV and she got up and hugged her sister. "Sorry Sis, I was just carried away." explained Roxy with sincerity. "You want me to call mom?" asked Roxy making sure of Sam's request. "Yes please. Ask her if she's gonna be here tomorrow." answered Sam, still with sadness in her eyes.

"Hello Mom? remember what day is tomorrow?" asked Roxy hoping that she'll remember. "Yes it's Sam's 18th birthday. Can you come home and celebrate with us?" she asked hoping that she'll say yes. "Okay, yeah. I know. I'll explain to her. Thanks Mom. Love you too!" Roxy turned the phone off and walked towards where Sam is sitting.

"Hey Sam. Ummm..." says Roxy with hesitation for she fears that Sam will cry and get mad on what she's going to say. "Yeah?" answered Sam. "Mom, ummm... she can't come. She told me to tell you that she'll have many things to finish at work and they're all due on Monday. But she told me that she'd call tomorrow and she wants you to know that she loves you very much and advance Happy Birthday." Roxy finally explained everything to Sam who's eyes are full of tears. But she replied, "It's okay. I know she'll say that."

Sam get up on her seat and went to her room. She cried her heart out and it was 3 in the afternoon when she fell asleep.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Sam heard a knock on the door. But she ignored it and went back to sleep.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

She heard the knock again. So, she decide to get up and open the door. But there was no one outside the door. Suddenly she heard a noise downstairs. It was like someone is cooking in the kitchen.

Sam, curious of what's going on downstairs decided to check it out by herself. She slowly went down the stairs with a hammer on her right hand (because that's all that she could grab right away) and reached the kitchen door.

She grab the doorknob and gently open the door. To her surprise she saw a man. He was not an ordinary man. He was wearing a dress and heels.  He has no face and hair. And he's so thin.

Sam couldn't believe her eyes. She saw that the man was cooking hotdogs and eggs and he was also boiling water. The creepy man suddenly looked at her and walked towards her direction like he's a zombie.

Panicked, Sam was frozen on her feet. She's trembling and sweating too hard. She can't let out a single word on her mouth. And she can't move a muscle.

The man was so close to her when she heard a loud knock on her bedroom door.

"Sam! Wake up it's already 7 in the evening!" shouted Roxy. "Don't you wanna eat dinner?" she added. "Coming!" Sam answered still sweating and trembling.

She get up from her bed and opened the door. She looked at her sister and touched her sister's cheeks making sure that she's not dreaming. She walked passed her sister and walked down straits to the kitchen. Roxy who's shocked on what her sister just did to her face followed her silently.

Sam just like in her dream grab the doorknob and gently open the door. But there was no one in the kitchen. Relieved, she shook her head and sat on the chair.

"Hey, you okay?" asked Roxy after seeing what her sister is doing. "I'm fine. Just another horrible dream." answered Sam with pain in her voice and fear in her eyes. "Again?" answered Roxy studying her sister. "Yes, this time it was a man with no face." Sam answered Roxy, describing what she saw in her dream. "What?" Roxy answered in disbelief.

Sam just nodded and make her way out of the kitchen. She felt that she's gonna collapse. Her knees are so weak that she walks like she's limping. She walk towards the sofa and picked up the book his dad gave her.

"What's with these dreams dad?" Sam muttered. "Why am I like this when I sleep?" she added. "Dad, why is mom so busy?" she's still talking to the book and decided to sit on the sofa. "Why can't she choose me instead of her work?" Sam feeling the weakness of her body laid on the sofa, closed her eyes and held the book that his dad gave her. She finally muttered,"I miss you dad."
