When Olive was a little girl, she had dreamed of this day just like almost every other little girl. She had it all planned out from the 5 girls sitting in the white limousine, to the golden sunflowers that the girls were holding. Today was the day she was marrying the man of her dreams, or so she thought...
"Olive! Hello Olive!!!" Mary waved her hand in front Olive's face, "Olive are you ready for this?" Mary had been her best friend since well forever, she was her other half; her identical twin sister.
Olive shook her head the red curls falling into her eye's a little. "Yes." she took a deep breath trying to calm her nerves. "Are you guys ready?" Olive looked around at her brides maids, they all looked gorgeous in their blue dresses and cowgirl boots, Olive had went a bit country on the wedding planning.
They all squealed a yes and headed out of the limousine. Olive had planned a nice little open field wedding with close friend's and family. Olive walked down the little pathway by the tree's following the girls to the hay covered aisle. She peeked through the tree's and saw the man she was marrying. He was wearing tight black jeans with a very slimming black button down and he wore his white cowboy hat so you could see the little bit of his dark hair peeking out. As if he felt Olive's stare on him he turned his piercing blue eyes matching hers. He gave her a half hearted smile, dimples showing on his cheeks. Olive felt the chill of excitement go down her spine as she took in a deep breath.
Olive had been waiting since she was twelve to marry this man standing at the alter, it only took him ten years to finally ask which then took her less then two months to plan. As the song 'Whiskey in the water' by Tyler Farr started playing, she knew it was time to start walking down the aisle.
Olive took one last deep breath and caressed her white dress to make sure it was perfect as she appeared from behind the tree's and watched everyone stand and stare. She felt the blood rush to her cheeks, she was not use to attention like this. The smile on her face grew even more, if possible, as she watched Adam take a step closer to her taking her hand helping her up the single step at the alter making sure she didn't fall. Olive was not a girly girl, heels were not her thing but her mother pressured her to wear them today.
"Welcome family and friends; You are here to witness a wedding. Today we unite Adam Brian and Olive Lewis as husband and wife..." As the pastor continued Olive was staring at Adam when she noticed his eye's shift from her to Mary, all of a sudden he pulled his hands away.
"Adam, what's wrong?" Olive's heart caught in her throat.
"Olive I can't do this; " Adam took a step away; "Mary, you are who I want to be with, you are the one I always wanted."
"What?!" Both Mary and Olive shouted at the same time as the crowd before them gasped.
"Mary, don't deny the feeling's I know you have." Olive watched as Adam stepped closer to mary; Olive's heart was breaking into pieces. "Mary the time we spent together last month was the best time of my life, please be with me?"
Olive's head was whipping between the two of them, "Wait, what happened last month? What time? Mary, explain!?"
"I'm sorry Olive, I don't want to hurt you but I've always loved Adam." Mary gave her a half hearted smile. "I always stood back because you two were together first, but-"
Olive cut her off with her small palm hitting smooth against Mary's pale skin, "Don't ever talk to me again, either of you!" She ripped her heel's off and just started running.
Olive didn't want to believe what had just happened, the man she loves, or was it loved now had betrayed her. Olive was so heart broken as she just kept running taring her dress along the tree's her feet getting cut open by the hard ground below her. The pain from that how ever was numbed by the pain of her heart breaking. She had been running for quiet sometime, the sun was starting to set.
