It's been a month since I've met him. Lee Taeyong. That guy who never talks in class. That guy who always sits in the corner. That guy, who always keep secrets about himself.
Summer is coming. Which means holiday. Which means nothing but stay at home being jobless. I don't hate summer but if I have something to do that will be fun.
"Hey Jaehyun, wanna come to my home for BBQ party next week?"
"Um I guess not, I have to visit my grandparents for a week"
Oh come on. There's always something better than BBQ party.
While I'm talking with the guys, I realized this boy stared at me for a quite long time. When I looked at hin back, he looked away to the window. I was about to approach him, until Chaeyoung, my ex, took my hand and pull me to the corridor.
"Hey Jae, wanna come to my home tonight?"
"No Chaeyoung we broke up already"
"That's why, Jae. Who knows we can make it up again so we can be together again"
"First, stop calling me Jae. Second, over means over, Chaeyoung. Don't push me like this"
"But-"
I left her before she finished her words. When I got back to class, he's still there. With his earphones on. I approached him and sat next to him.
"So, what are you gonna do this summer?" I asked him.
He looked at me and took his earphones off.
"Mind your own business"
He stood up and packed his stuffs. But before he leaves, I grabbed his hand.
"Hey Lee Taeyong"
He looked toward me.
"Let go"
"Not until you talk to me"
He rolled his eyes, "I already did".
I looked into his eyes. He finally gave up.
"Fine. Are you about to throw a party or what? Because I obviously won't-"
"I'm not throwing a party. I'm just asking what you're gonna do this summer, because maybe...."
"Maybe what?"
"Maybe I can visit your home?"
Taeyong flustered. But suddenly, he laughs.
"What? Do I say something funny?"
"Oh sorry, my home? You wanna come to my home? Listen up, Jaehyun, I don't even have house"
I confused.
"If you don't have it, then where do you live?"
"That place that you called 'home' is not even a home for me"
He opened his bag and took a piece of paper and a pen. Then he wrote something on it and after he finished he gave that paper to me.
"If you're still wondering about my words previously"
I read the paper, and there's an address which is located around 5 blocks from my house.
"You can come anytime, but expect nothing"
He stood up again and left me alone in the class. I stood up and left the class with that paper still on my right hand.
I still hold that paper along my way home. When I arrived, I laid on my bed and looked at the writing on that paper. And then I thought about his words. Don't have home? What's this all about? Should I visit him tomorrow?
"Jaehyun"
My mom came to my room that moment.
"Yes, mom?"
"Take a shower first, then have some dinner"
"Okay. What's for dinner?"
"Pasta"
I smiled as I heard the word 'pasta'. I hurriedly took a shower, dressed up, and went downstair to the dining room. As expected the pasta's already on the table. Dad's already there, too.
"So what are you going to do for summer, young man?" Dad asked.
"I don't know, Dad"
"Better make yourself productive, Sir"
Mom joined us after that.
"Can we eat first then talk about it later, gentlemen?"
Then we ate our dinner in silence. I finished it first then waited for Mom and Dad.
"Mom? Dad?"
"Yes?"
"I'm going to visit my friend's house tomorrow"
"Well okay, but where is it?" Mom asked.
"Not far. 5 blocks from here"
"Just don't get home late, okay?"
"Don't worry, Mom"
I helped my mom clean the dining table and went upstairs to my room. I took my phone and texted Taeyong.
"Hey taeyong, i'll be there at 11"
I laid on my bed and waited for his reply.
I waited,
And waited,
And waited,
And after 15 minutes he finally replied.
"K"
I thought that was all he about to say. But not in a minute, he sent me another text.
"Just prepare urself"
Prepare myself? For what? Before I texted him back, he texted me again.
"Jung jaehyun, don't ask. Whatever happens tomorrow, just don't ever ask me. K?"
