"You'll like it at the camp, Lucy, trust me." My mom's voice rung throughout the hall and into my ears as I angerily shoved clothes into a big, red suitcase.
"No, I won't. I know you're just trying to get rid of me for the summer."
"Sweetie, we just want you to have something to do this summer since Liza went to Florida for the summer." My mom reassured me again, but I wasn't persuaded.
"Well, I'm definitely trying to get rid of you." Marissa stuck her head into my room and I looked over my shoulder to glare at her.
"Get out before I come into your room at 2 in the morning and shave all your hair off and choke you with it." That made Marissa finally leave.
"Are you almost ready, Lucy?" My brother, Henry, called from downstairs.
"Almost... what time are we leaving?" I yelled back while trying to get the zipper unstuck from the fabric of the suitcase.
"Your flight's at 8 so we should go at 6:30."
"Okay, got it." I gasp as I finally unhooked the zipper and pulled my bag closed. I sighed and fell back onto my bed, letting my body relax. Turning my head to the side, I glanced at the clock beside my bed. It read 5:56 am. Since I had some extra time I grabbed the book that I was supposed to read over the summer off my bedside table and started to flip through the pages. "whatever," I sighed and threw the book into the corner of my room. Suddenly I heard a loud clang when it hit the floor. I sat up and saw that it landed on my old jewerly box.
"Are ya gonna miss me?" Marissa came bouncing in just as I was about to go over to the jewerly box. "Admit it. You're gonna miss me." Her blond curls bounced up and down as she sat down on my bed.
"Sure, whatever you say." I rolled my eyes and picked up the jewerly box. When I opened it I noticed it was empty except for something wedged into the corner.
"What's that?" Marissa came up to me and tried to look in the box but I pulled it away.
"Marissa, stop annoying me. Get out." I pushed her out and shut the door. After a minute I pulled the object out of the corner of the box to reveal it was a necklace. Not very much of a necklace, though. All it was was a silver chain with my name, "Lucy" in silver letters. I didn't remember when or why I got it but I put it around my neck anyway.
"Lucy! We gotta go now." Henry yelled anxiously.
"I'm coming." After putting my brown hair in a ponytail, I heaved my suitcase off from my bed and rolled it out into the hall and down the staircase to an impatient Henry. His unusually dark blue eyes, like mine, stared at me with a annoyed look. I laughed alittle and slightly shoved him. Henry sighed and relaxed, shoving me back while laughing a little.

I waved goodbye to Henry as I boarded the plane to LA. Most people would be excited to go to LA, not me.
Sitting down in my window seat next to a lady who was mumbling into her cell phone, I tried to make myself as comfortable as possible. Halfway through the flight, after I had drunk three plastic cups of diet coke and eaten two bags of nuts, I felt myself start to finally fall asleep.
"Prepare for landing in 5 minutes." The speaker buzzed and my eyelids lifted. I looked out the window and saw the ground coming closer and closer. "We have arrived at 2:16 pm on a beautiful 83 degree sunny day today in los angeles, I hope you have all enjoyed your flight today with American Airlines." The speaker clicked off and people started to get up and retrieve their bags from the overhead bins. I stood up as best as I could without hitting my head and waited for the lady infront of me to move forward.
