1. Life changing boyfriend

Summer's over. Its a new term at Mayor Academy, the boarding school for spoilt rich kids, my father sends me to. He's always said he send me their to improve my grades but I know I'm at Mayor Academy because my father wants me out of his hair. He hates having a daughter around slowing down business meetings and watever else. He wants rid of me. And anyway how can I improve my grades. I've been a straight A student pretty much all my life. And the worst of it is my father is so controlling even though I only spend summer and christmas with him and my stepmother, Sandy. He's forever teling me what to do. Freaking out if my grades are not perfect, freaking out if my behaviour is not perfect. Basically freaking out if I'm not perfect. And even though I hardly ever see him I'm forever trying to be a perfect, golden student. Never, ever disobeying my teachers and never ever disobeying my father.

Anyway. Seven o'clock in the evening and I've just arrived at Mayor Academy. I'm in my dorm and I'm unpacking all my things when Maci and Leela, my roomies enter.

I've shared a dorm room with Maci and Leela since I was twelve and just started Mayor Academy, I'm fifthteen now. I classed them as my best friends. They were just about the exact same as everyone else at this stupid school, stuck up, rich and spoilt but it was either chill with them our be a complete and utter loner and I'm not sure my father would like that much. Being a complete outcast made you far from perfect.

"Hey." Maci and Leela grinned.

"Hey." I flashed a fake smile back.

"Looking forward to a new year of Mayor Academy?" asked Leela. I forgot to mention. Leela and Maci idolized being send here. They thought it was the best thing that ever happened to them. So did everyone here. Maybe I was being ungrateful but this place felt like a prison.

"Sure." I lied.

"Leela." giggled Maci "Why wouldn't Selena be looking forward to a new year at Mayor. I mean she is the school's golden girl. All the boys want to date her and all the girls wanna be her. I mean she's the richest kid here and a straight A student. She's perfect."

I sighed that was me and I hated it. I was so false. I always had to pretend I was happy and I loved my school and I loved my life. I was always trying to please somebody else and never pleasing myself. On the outside I was smiling but on the inside I was screaming. I wanted to escape. I needed to be saved from my misery of a life but their was nobody to save me and I didn't have the strengh to save myself.

I blinked back tears. I would not cry I would deal with it.

"Selena, you okay?" Maci asked.

"Sure. I just wanna finish unpacking and have an early night. I mean school does offically start back tomorrow."
