Jeffrey Woods began what would be called "the worst day of his life" like he would any day. He went to school thinking it would just be another boring day at Everlast High School. In the end he would wish that was the case.
When he reached his locker he found a note was poking out of the top. He opened the letter and read it over and over again trying to comprehend what it meant . The note read "Sorry for your loss.~A" He still couldn't understand, who died? Was it in the wrong locker? Who is A? He decided to solve the mystery later and slipped the note in his bag. When he reached his homeroom he noticed something different , many of his freinds were missing. At first he didn't think anything of it, they skipped school often and it was a weekly thing. The weird thing was that they would all skipped school together and wouldnt leave Jeffery at school. He began asking the other student where his friends were, asking if there was a walk out or something. One of the students just looked at Jeffery with sad eyes and a silence surrounded them. Not just because the student didn't answer, the rest of the room mimicked his silence and stared at him. One of the girls began to cry. The boy finally broke the uneasy silence "you haven't heard?" his voice cracked like he was about to cry too. "Heard what?" Jeffery questioned getting anxious over so many eyes on him.
" The massive suicide packed; it was on the news..."
"How could they have... No, no that cant be right. They weren't..., they wouldnt have..." grabing his phone he looked up the news wedsite and was mortified by the head lines in boldly letters "HIGHSCHOOL GRIEVING FOR THE 15 LIVES LOST IN SUICIDE PACKED". He started panicing, he had to leave the class before he completely lost his mind. He bursted out of the class and ran to the bathroom trying to recover from the shock by himself. Only to find more staring eyes from the morning stoners in the bathroom. He finally lost it, he walked out the exit not caring about the other teachers or students trying to stop him. He reached his car and floored it. Weaving in and out of traffic trying to get home. When he reached home there was a thin cloud around his house, he didn't notice he just wanted to get somewhere he could clear his conscious, or commit suicide. Which ever came first. He raced to his room and locked the door trying to find some kind of security. He stayed there alone for a long time trying to understand how all of this could happen. His vision began blurring and become dark when he reached for his knife under the bed. Before he could do anything he heard a slight knock on his door and the voice of his dad asking "Are you ok? Let me in Jeffery, dont do anything stupid." Jeffery couldn't stand it any more. He hated all of this attention on him, he began gripping his knife harder and blacked out hearing his fathers frantic knock on the door...
He regained consciousness hearing a hysterical laugh. And realizing it was his he automatically tryed to stop, but the harder he tryed the louder it got. His vision finally cleared and he noticed he was covered in blood. He started to panic again when he figured out it wasn't his, but the body laying in his bedroom floor next to him. He nervously checked to see who it was, rolling the body over he recognized him automatically. His brother with his haunting blue eyes open with the look of fear and his blonde hair stained with his own blood. Jeffery's hysterical laugh quickly turned into a silent cry. He checked the rest of the house, all of his faimly was the same way. His dad, mom, and brother were stabbed to death leaving him to see their dead bodies. Then he finally understood what happened when he found himself still holding his knife now damp with the blood of his faimly. He needed to get the blood off of him or else he would go mad. He rushed to the bathroom, still terrified by what he had done. After rinsing his face off he felt a sharp pain on his cheeks. He looked in the mirror and was horrified by his appearance, his skin had turned as white as paper and his hair was black as coal. But the most surprising was the cut in smile on his face, still slightly bleeding. He thought he looked like a monster and felt like it to. He had to escape this nightmare he crafted for himself. He ran into the woods to find shelter from the frightening scene. It was night time now and he had no were else to go, he ran until he couldnt feel his legs anymore. He tryed to run from the horror that was his own making, to his own faimly. When he couldn't run anymore he came crashing to the ground. He wanted nothing more than to die where he laid. After a few minutes passed by he noticed something strange, there were old drawings attached to the trees and scattered along the ground. The wind rustled the tree leaves, but other than that there weren't any other noises. It seemed as though no other living creature was there. Jeffery looked at the pictures and found that they all looked similar, there was always a little kid and a tall, dark, faceless man. In some of the pictures the man had tentacles swirled in the air like smoke. He soon realized that it had gotten even darker around him. He turned around to see what was casting the massive shadow over him. Jeffery found a man that looked exactly like the picture that was still in his hands."Hello Jeff, follow me" said a deep voice. He didn't understand what was happening but at this point he didn't care. With his friends dead, family murdered, and how he looked now there was no real reason to try and survive. He followed closely in the foot steps of the tall and mincing man without saying a word.
