"Give it up for Matt with his cover of Stereo Hearts! Up next we have...Skelly Parker, singing Lego House! First, were gonna take a short break. We'll be back soon!" I heard Mr. Dalton announce on the stage. I sighed, looking in the mirror once more to make sure nothing was messed up. My brown hair was curled for the show. I had on some light make up, making my hazel eyes shine. I sighed again, putting my face in my hands. I was way too nervous. My best friend Alexis had signed me up for the school talent show to sing and play guitar. Everyone always said I had a really pretty voice, but I never believed them.

I haven't introduced myself, have I? My name's Skelly. Skelly Parker. Yea yea, I know my name's weird. So were my parents though. I'm seventeen years old. I have two brothers and my mum and dad. I barely get to talk to them anymore though since they live so far away. I'm actually an exchange student from Ireland, so I was known well for my strong Irish accent. My parents wanted me to finish my last two years here since I got expelled from every local school back at home. Eh, I didn't want to go to college anyway. So far i've learned about so many assholes in highschool. My only real friend here is Alexis Marie. She had brown hair and brown eyes. She has been letting me live with her for the time i've been here. She's one of those kids who never missed school, got straight A's, and always sits at the front of class. So she was a nerd. I still have no clue how we became such good friends, a nerd and a rebel. Opposites attract I guess.

"Skelly, you ready? Your on in 10 minutes. Make sure your good." Mr. Dalton said, running off. I sighed, giving myself another mirror check. This wasn't gonna be good.

"Skelly, are you ok? You don't look great." Alexis said, sitting next to me.

"I'm nervous as hell. What if I screw up a note? What if I forget what to sing? Why the hell did you sign me up in the first place?!" I said, my voice getting louder.

"Skelly, you won't screw up. You've been practicing for such a long time, your going to be amazing. And I signed you up because you sing like an angel." She said, pinching my cheeks.

"I do not!" I huffed. She just rolled her eyes. We sat there in silence for what seemed like forever, waiting for the show to start again.

"Alright and were back! We now have Skelly Parker, singing and playing guitar the song Lego House by Ed Sheeran!" I heard Mr. Dalton's voice booming from the stage. Alexis grabbed out my guitar and pushed it in my hands.

"Break a leg Skel. Well not literally but-"

"I know what you mean Alex. Don't freak out." I said, strumming my guitar. I had lessons to play guitar when I was really young, so I was actually really good at it. I checked the mirror one last time, and followed one of the workers to the entrance to the stage. He counted down, then pushed me through the curtain onto the stage. The lights blinded me, the screaming was deafening. I walked to where a microphone was set up on a stand, getting my guitar ready. Once I was in front of the microphone, I took a deep breath, closed my eyes and started strumming the beginning of Lego House. I heard people start cheering just from me playing my guitar. I must be good. I brought my mouth to the microphone and started singing.

"I'm gonna pick up the pieces, and build a lego house. If things go wrong we can knock it down." I sang, hearing a large cheer go through the crowd. I smiled, seeing how everyone was already loving it. People had cameras out, taking pictures and videos. I just ignored it and kept singing.

"My three words have two meanings, there's only one thing on my mind, it's all for you." I sang the next line, closing my eyes and letting myself get lost in the music.

"And it's dark in a cold December, but i've got you to keep me warm. If you're broken I will mend ya, and i'll keep you sheltered from the storm that's raging on!"
