A/N~ Hey! I hope you enjoy this unoriginal idea! HAHahah... gods. I'm going to cover a few things before we begin. First off, this book will have a LOT of death. As much as it will pain me to do so, there can only be "one" winner, so sadly a lot of favorite characters will have to die. (I'm going to hate myself and hate having to kill them off. Trust me, this'll hurt me more than it hurts you. Well, maybe not.) Killing off these characters will be sad, yes, so prepare yourselves. Second off, I have not read Hunger Games in a while, so I will try to make this kind of accurate but I'm not sure how well it'll be. Finally, don't worry there'll be some "steamy stuff" in this. Calm down, I'd rate it PG but maybe there will be a little kissing. Heehee. Of course, I am a hardcore Percabeth shipper so there will be lots of that, too. I think that pretty much covers it. Again, hope ya'll enjoy! Peace!

~Annabeth Chase~

The Demigod Games.

When they choose 24 demigods to fight to the death, with only one winner. Sounds like fun, huh?

"Ready for tomorrow?" My best friend, Thalia, asked.

I laid down on the grass and stared into the sky. "Is anyone ever really 'ready' for the Reaping?"

She laughed. "Guess not," Thalia took off her silver jacket and dropped it on the ground next to her. "Who do you think it'll be this year?"

Every year she asks me. I gave her my usual reply. "Not sure."

"I'm in an extra time now since I'm sixteen. That makes 8 chances, for me and my mom."

I closed my eyes, feeling the calm breeze flow throw my hair. "Well, I'm in 22."

"22?" Thalia asked, surprised.

"Yeah. Family thought it'd be better if I was put in for Matthew, Bobby, and myself. That way Malcolm only has to go in for himself, dad, and Helen. It's his last year though," I replied. Usually, I only go in for one of the twins and myself. "Even with just them, he's in 37 times."

Thalia looked at me. "What are you going to do when he's done? Next year, are you seriously going to go in for your entire family?!"

I had been trying not to think about that. Bobby and Matthew were not demigods, which meant next year I would be the only one in my family being put in. The only way I'd avoid getting picked is absolute pure luck.

I shook my head without answering. We sat in silence, staring into the darkening sky.

"Annabeth!" I heard my dad yell from the house.

I sat up. "Looks like that's dinner."

Thalia and I both got up and she grabbed her jacket. We hugged and I said, "See ya Thals," Then I headed to the house.

When I got inside I took my shoes off and we got our plates ready for dinner. There was little talk as we ate, most likely because the Reaping was tomorrow. I was really nervous for both myself and Malcolm.

During dinner, there was a knock on the door. I pushed out my chair and went to see who it was, happy for an excuse to leave the awkwardness.

When I opened the door I was greeted by a pale-blue eyed, blonde. "Happy day before the Reaping."

I laughed, hugging him. "Hi, Luke." (A/N~ I know, I know. I hate Luke as much as you do. Promise there will be like 0 Lukabeth, actually, that's a little lie but it won't be much. Pinky Promise!)

"Hey, Annie," I used to hate when he called me that, but I've kind of grown into it. "Gotcha something to celebrate the Reap."

I just noticed the package he was holding. It was a small pink box, maybe the size of a shoe box. I immediately knew what it was.

"Luke! You got some?!" I led him inside and took the package from him. I placed it on the couch and opened it. Inside was a dozen chocolate chip cookies.

They smelled delicious. "How? What'd cost you?"

"Only a squirrel. Can you believe it? I think Sally was being a little nice for the Reaping," Luke explained. Sally Jackson was the owner of the districts small bakery. She made delicious baked treats, though, for some reason, she always made them blue. It was her "thing".

"Annabeth!" Matthew called from the table. "What'd we get? What's in the package?"

I grabbed both Luke and the package and brought them into the dining room. I placed the package on the table and both Bobby and Matthew's eyes grew wide.

"This was extremely kind of you, Luke," My father said.

Luke shrugged. "It's nothing, really. Cost me really nothing, too. Just thought your family could use a treat before tomorrow."

Helen smiled. "Well, we really appreciate it, Luke. Why don't you sit and join us for dinner?"

"I'd love to, but I really should be heading home now. Mother will probably be wondering when I'm coming back."

Helen nodded and I led Luke back to the front door. I hugged him again.

"Thanks," I said as I stood on my tiptoes and kissed his cheek. He said goodbye and left down the street.

When I returned to my family both Bobby and Matthew already had stuffed a cookie each in their mouths. I laughed, sitting down and finishing my dinner, to also have a cookie.

Now, all that was left to do was to see who was to be picked the next day.

A/N~ I know, I know. This was an incredibly short chapter. The next chapter will be out very soon, however. I have great plans for this. Hopefully, you liked it so far, and be looking out for more! Peace!
