What is Omegaverse?

Omegaverse is a type of werewolf AU (Alternate Universe), separating males and females into three ranks: Alpha, Beta, and Omega.

The main differences between Omegaverse characters and werewolves is that the characters do not become wolves -they do mostly just have the powers, though- and Omega males are able to become pregnant while alpha females can impregnate.

Alpha

The 'top dog' of sorts. They're more aggressive and powerful than the other two ranks -of course this also depends on the individual-. They're the males and females filled with more testosterone, able to impregnate Omegas -and occasionally Betas-, but cannot become pregnant themselves.

They usually take positions such as CEOs, Government, and other jobs that include having to be a strong leader. This usually means that they don't take orders well, unless it's from a more powerful Alpha. They don't hang out with Betas unless completely necessary, and will spend lots of time trying to attract the attention of an Omega -the best mate-.

Beta

Act like everyday people, a middle man of sorts. They're better at taking care of themselves than Omegas, but not aggressive like Alphas. They're not able to impregnate or be impregnated by Omegas, but they can be impregnated by an Alpha or impregnate other Betas.

They're able to do more things than Omegas when it comes to jobs and activities, but are often still looked down on by Alphas for technically being 'outcasts'. They tend to stay away from the other two ranks unless they're forced to interact.

Omega

The rank consisting of females and males who are more soft spoken, generous, and supportive. Mostly used to have the children of Alphas -as they're unable to be impregnated any other way, and cannot get others pregnant- and to stay at home. They're smaller and weaker, and usually tend to look for a strong Alpha to mate with.

They usually take positions that consists of taking care of others, like being a day care teacher, waitress/waiter, or stay-at-home parent. Looked down on by both of the other ranks and often seen as just baby producers, Omegas tend to stay closer to other Omegas or to themselves until ready for a mate.

How do you know which one you are?

Before children go to middle school (11-12 years old) they are tested in three different categories: Physical, Mental, and Personality.

What is a Heat/Rut?

Heat: Omegas will go into a heat period for about a weak every three months. When in heath, Omegas will emit a pheromone which will strong attract Alphas -sometimes Betas- regardless of their will. Omegas will take supressants to prevent their heat, or mate. If they do not have a mate, they will lock themselves in their rooms -or the saferooms often provided at their works/schools- to stay away from Alphas. During this time the Omegas are most fertile.
Rut: The Alphas heat period. Very similar to an Omegas.

What is a mate?

Like for werewolves, mating is a sacred bond between Omegas and Alphas far greater than anything that could be created between lovers or a married couple. There's very rare times when a bond can be broken, as it will affect both partners to become a bit damaged.

When an Alpha bites the Omega's scent glands on their neck, it immediately bonds them and allows others to know that their Omega is taken.

Because the ranks are considered a 'second gender', instead of being referred to as 'Mr., Miss, Mrs., or Ms.' they're called by their rank.Most Omegas wear iron collars to keep themselves from being marked by feral Alphas
Alphas make up 30% of the population, Betas make up 50%, and Omegas make up 20% -at least in my Omegaverse-
