Chapter Four

Alex's POV.

I wake up and go to the bathroom. I look in the mirror to see my hair ratted and my eyes are still slightly puffy from crying so much last night. I can't believe I lost my mom and she was only 37.

I wash my face and brush my hair and curl it. I throw on my outfit (above in media) the battle against red hook is today. 'Mom I promise we are going to win this for you' I think as I grab my phone and leave to go to my house.

I unlock the door and walk in. I go to my mom's room and grab the shoe box that's under her bed. On top is written.

'ALEX'

She said never to open it unless she's not here anymore. I open the box and gasp its picture of my dad and myself. I pull out the first photo and smile.

I pull the second photo out.

There are only two of us alone and the rest are of all three of us. I see an envelope and I take it out.

I open it up and read the note inside.

Hey Alex it's me your dad. I know you will never get a chance to know me because I'm not going to live to see you grow up. If you are reading this just know I love you and I will never stop I have cancer and I stopped my treatments because I wasn't getting any better. Please don't cry over me just know that I'm finally at peace and not in anymore pain. I have a surprise your mom is supposed to give to you when you turn 21. I hope she gave it to you and if not go to the storage and it will be there. I love you babygirl find someone who is going to treat you like a queen. Beat up anyone who hurts you and keep dancing ok. You can either follow in my families footsteps or your moms. Hell you can do whatever you want. Dance if you want to dance. Be a doctor if you want. You can achieve anything you put your mind to. I love you

I fold the note back up and put it back in the envelope. 'For both mom and you I'll try and be happy' I think to myself as I put everything back in the shoe box. I put the lid back on and take it to my room. I set it in my dresser.

My phone dings and I look to see Luke texted me.

Luke: be ready we are leaving in 20.

Shadow🖤: ok I'm on my way now.

Luke: alright I'll let everyone know.

Shadow🖤: ok bye.

I turn off my phone and lock the doors. I start walking to the vault and I see people looking at me. I glare at them and they turn away. I make it to the vault and the twins hug me.

"We need to go" Jason says as he avoids eye contact with me making me confused. I look down and you can visibly see my scars with my T-shirt I'm wearing. I sigh and we go to the battle.

~Time skip at the Battle of red hook~
They all start dancing making animalistic growls and stuff which Is hella bad ass.

We take our turn. A few people run out and dance and one of the ticks is brought into the air and he leans back.

They go and it's more aggressive with there dancing this time which makes me snort quietly and get a few looks from my fellow crew mates beside me.

~another time skip because I'm lazy~

It's our turn again. This time it's my time to shine so I run out with the twins and start dancing.

(Dance above)

At the end we clap and the power flies everywhere making the crowd cheer louder.

We are pulled back and the guy who decides who wins comes out. "THE PIRATES" he screams and points to us. We all shout and hug each other my phone vibrates so I pull it out of the pocket and look at it.

Daniel💀: good job on the win

Alex🖤:  what?

Daniel💀: look right

I look to my right to see Daniel standing there smirking at me.

Alex🖤: how long have you been there?

Daniel💀:  since the beginning

Alex🖤: why did you come?

Daniel💀: wanted to see a beautiful girl beat the other teams ass's.

Alex🖤: your an idiot.

Daniel 💀: yeah probably true.

I laugh and go to reply but in squished into a hug. "ALEX WE DID IT WE WON" The twins shout in my ear. "I know but stop yelling I'm right here" I say as I hit them on top of their heads. "Oowwwwwww allleeexxxx" They say as they grabs their heads pouting.

All of the pirates laugh and we leave I turn to look at Daniel one more time. He is still smirking and he winks making my face turn red as I look away. Once we get back we all celebrate and I offer to make dinner.

"Can you even cook?" Carlos says making Jason snort "can she cook? Hell yeah she can do you know how many cooking competitions she won in high school" He says making everyone look at me.

"I'm going to start cooking now" I say running to the kitchen. I get everything needed out and I start cooking.

~an hour has passed~

"Alex are you done yet?" Marcos yells "NO BE PATIENT" I yell back hearing whines.

~another hour passed~
"AL-"

"ALMOST NOW STOP ASKING" I yell earning shouts. I chuckle as I hear the curse words thrown my way.

~dinner is done~

"Dinners done" I say walking out with the plate.

(Just pretend there is a lot more)

"What is it?" Carlos asks as he looks at the plate in my hands. "It's Mexican grilled shrimp with corn salsa. Either eat or starve or make your own food" I say setting the play down. Moose is the first one to grab some.

"Holy shit" He says as he takes a bite. "What?" Luke asks him. "It's delicious" Moose tells Luke and soon enough everyone is eating. "Alex aren't you going to eat" Anala asks making me shake my head.

"I don't eat dinner" I tell them making Luke shake his head. "At least sit with us" He says so I sit down in between moose and Martin. "Happy now eat" I say and they go back to eating.

My phone dings and I look at it.

Daniel💀: I'm bored.

Alex🖤: go dance or something.

Daniel💀: come battle me at the park tomorrow.

Alex🖤: why do you want to lose again?

Daniel💀: this time I'll beat you.

Alex🖤: you sure about that?

Daniel💀: yeah I am

My phone is taken out of my hands and I look up to see anala reading my texts. "ANALA GIVE ME MY PHONE" I shout "Who's Daniel?" She asks making everyone look at me. "He's a friend now give me my phone" I say but Marcos grabs it and hold it above his head.

"DAMN YOU" I yell as I try to reach my phone. He laughs at my failed attempts and gives me my phone. I punch his shoulder softly not wanting to hurt him.
