It took a wedding to bring me back to Montana. A wedding being held on the Augustine ranch, a place that was once like a home to me. A place where I once had real love. It seems like my roots are rooted here to this ranch and Montana even when I didn't want to be. My sister is pregnant for an Augustine. His name is Peyton. That and wanting to see Mason again brought me here. I know me coming back to Montana was huge and Mason might not want to see me. After my Dad blamed Mason for Riley's death I just left skipped town without so much as a goodbye and now here I am three years later with the lump I left with still on my chest, my heart racing and my eyes searching for him.

Mason.

It's been so long since I blessed my eyes on him and here I am nervous as hell.

Hailey and I walked up to the house. Jason was outside talking to his mother when he saw us coming.

" Hailey "

He says calling out to my sister before his eyes landed on me.

" Bailey what on God's earth are you doing here? "

Jason asked his tone unpleasant. Great only five minutes here and already the drama starts.

" Jason, it's good to see you. "

I say watching his mouth form in a grim line.

" Does Mason know you're here? "

He asked in the same unpleasant tone of voice.

" No he doesn't. "

I answer trying my best not to come off as rude.

" You should leave before he finds out. "

He suggested. But the way he said it it was more like an order.

I was about to leave when Mason walks through the front door his eyes landing on me. I stood there frozen and so did he. He then looks at Jason.

'' What the fuck is she doing here? "

He says pointing at me. His face was filled with disgust and one emotion I recognize even though he was trying to hide it Hurt.

I hurt him.

He has every right to be mad. He has every right to not want me here. But I couldn't help but feel happy to see him. Only one thing made me feel sad, was the hurt written in his eyes.

"Mason please can we not do this? "

I asked hoping he would hear me out. Listen to what I had to say.

" Why are you here Bailey? "

He says ignoring my question.

" I'm here to support my sister. "

I say hoping that he'll see that. I really didn't come here to bring up the past. I left and I had my reasons. Reasons he doesn't know about.

" Whatever. "

Mason says walking passed me and Hailey. He got in his truck and drove off. Leaving me to deal with a very angry Jason. If only he knew why I left.

The Day I left my father told me that I had to choose between the family or Mason. And if I chose wrong he would make Mason go to jail for the death of my brother. Thinking about Mason rotting away in a cell I packed my bags and I left. I left for good, well so I thought until I came here today.

" Bailey just leave. "

Jason yells. When he does I hugged my sister and started walking away. I look at their mother and I can she feels sorry for me. She knows everything. She wanted to say something but I stopped her. I had to talk to Mason first some how. And I know where to find him. I just hope he would listens.

I left Jason's wedding walking. The fresh air did me some good. I walked from their Ranch all the way into town. When I got there the sun was just setting and it was getting dark. I found the bar Mason always went to when something is bothering him. He always had a thing for burban on the rocks. As I walk inside I find him at the bar drinking,what he always does to calm his head.

" Mason. "

I called out to him, which earned me a growl as he turned the bar stool to face in my direction.

" What do you want Bailey? "

He asked, looking more annoyed than anything else.

" To talk. "

I say.

" Talk about what? How you left without a word. No trace and when I asked your father he would say he doesn't know where you are. "

He says before turning back to the bar tender and ordered another drink.

" Mason please listen. "

I begged.

" No I'm done listening. "

Mason yells. When he sees people looking at us he brought his voice down.

" Bailey leave, and please don't come back."

He says his voice filled with pain and hurt. I wanted to him why I left but there was no point. So did what he asked I left. I went back to the hotel I passed earlier and booked a room. I didn't get much sleep that night mind was on Mason the whole time. As always. I didn't want him to hate me. Everything I did it for him.

After the wedding. I went back and I had to let Mason know the the truth. But When I got there things were a lot stranger. My father and my brother Alex was at the Ranch.

They were talking to Mason and he looked upset. I quickly walked over.

" What the hell is going on? "

I asked jumping right into the conversation.

" Tell your father we're not seeing each other. I have a girlfriend, her name is Tris. "

He says angrily.

The only thing out of what he said that stuck was the word girlfriend. Another girl is where I want to be. At his side, how is that possible? Her name wrung in my head making me feel faint and dizzy. He has a girlfriend?

Impossible.

I felt my knees coming undone a the ground was floating towards my face. I almost hit the ground when he catches me.

" Bail are you okay? "

Mason asks as he takes me inside.

I nod.

I couldn't help the smile that formed on my face. He called me by the nickname he gave me. Seeing his concern for me made think there is still hope. If he knew the truth I stand a chance to have in my life again.

" I'll get you some water. "

He says leaving me on the couch as he head to the kitchen. As soon as he walked out the sitting room my tears started to fall.

" Why? "

I found myself saying

" Why me,why now ? Why now when I've come to clear air between us? "

Mason comes back with a glass of water. And I couldn't stop the question that came out my mouth.

" You have a girlfriend? "

" Yes I do. " he says smiling.

I remembered when he smiled like that for me. And that's when I felt it for the first time.

Jealously.

I'm jealous of her. Whoever she is. She took my one and only love from me. And I bet she is even in love with him.
