'This year was going to be great!' I thought to myself as, I brushed my long brown hair. I scanned myself in the mirror and, smiled. Grabbing my makeup kit I took out my eyeshadow palette and, brushed on a light brown Smokey eye and topped my eyes off with mascara. I then put my hair into a cheer bow and, got dressed in the uniform given to me after making the cheer team after my, what seemed like 50th time of trying out for the team.
I had to work my butt off for this position. I had to practice day and night! Finally I made the team and, finally I felt relieved. Being on the cheer team was like, a will that you would fit in. You didn't have to worry.  This year I,  Avalon Anne Evans would finally not have to worry about not fitting in.
"Ava!" Called my mom from the kitchen.
"I'm coming!" I yelled back before quickly putting on a quick coat of clear gloss.
"If you don't hurry the fuck up your going to be walking little sis!" Called my brother Jakob.
I ran down the stairs carrying my things and, kissed my mom goodbye and then hopped into the car, excited for my first day as, a freshman and my first day as, an official member of the cheer squad.
When Jakob parked the car he wished me good luck on my first day and, then he walked off to find some of his senior friends. I stayed leaning up against the car waiting to see a familiar face, however no one came to my eyes. I soon decided to depart on my own.
As, I walked through the unfamiliar hallway, I saw eyes upon me. I wondered if I looked weird. Maybe, I should fix my hair.
"Whoa is that Avalon?" I heard someone comment.
"Ava Evans??!! In a cheer outfit? Whoa" said another voice.
I turned around to see who said that but, ended up running into something hard. Maybe, the wall?
Nope. Just my stupid luck it was... actually I don't know who it was, but being my clumsy self I dropped my stuff and, stumbled backwards.
Kindly, he bent over picked up my stuff, handed it to me and, winked before gliding away. I don't know why but, I was blushing. Maybe because, I had never been treated like that before. When, I was in middle school whenever I dropped my stuff no one bent to pick it up, they just scoffed and walked away, but I guess that has changed.
"Avalon?" I heard someone say.
"Nice uniform," no other than Blake Ashton said. I immediately started blushing. I couldn't help it! My childhood crush just said I had a nice uniform! Well I mean every cheerleader has the same one but, AHHHH
As, soon as everything calmed down I went to scout out where my locker was. My heart was still racing from seeing Blake. I started walking to find the C hallway where my locker was and, 3 girls joined me.  Addison, Olivia and, Madeline. I recognized them from tryouts. They were all juniors and, perfect.
There bodies were the perfect shape, eye colors to die for and they made me feel like, I was a troll when they stood next to me.
"OH AM GEE!" cried Addison grabbing my arm. "We saw Blake Ashton talking to you! How'd it go?" she questioned like, we were best friends or something.
"Oh um nothing really happened," I commented.
"Well something will! Everyone is talking about, it freshman, you're definitely starting the year off right. Making the cheer team, talking to Blake, being friends with us! Everyone's going to love you!"
Wow. Being told that from the most popular girls in the school made me wonder if I was really popular material. Maybe, it was just the material of my outfit. Remember cheerleading uniform. I didn't change. The only thing that changed was my outfit. Despite, that I didn't care. I fit in and right now that's all that really mattered.
