A footstep echoed through the hall, as Pater entered the golden sanctum, blood dripping from his hand and his eyes, he had come here for one purpose.

Yes. That's a great idea. It's beautiful.

Pater clenched his hand tightly around the knife he held in his hand, blood squishing a has his grip tightened and seeped through his fingers.

Don't. Just die. You gave up all your morals over curiosity, look where its led you now. We should be burning in hell.

Pater ignored the second voice, stepping forward he left behind a bloody footprint. Each step creating a pool of blood and squishing noise of his blood-soaked boots. A person in a slick black suit came running around the corner, carrying a totem in his left hand and an smg in his right, the number eleven scratched onto the weapon. He stopped dead in tracks once he noticed Pater and the black aura that surrounded him.

Seven soldiers came chasing behind stopping several meters behind him. Pointing their rifles at the robber.

"Put the totem down and-What the...What is that unholy beast?" One of the guards asked with fear and dread.

He must be talking about us, let's show him. Let's show them all.

As the voice finished speaking the robber disappeared, leaving behind a glowing white liquid where the figure once stood, the liquid dissipating into nothingness.

"Open fire!" The soldier in the blue uniform yelled and with that, Pater felt several bolts of heat pierce his chest, everything began to disintegrate into golden dust and the world reshaped itself again.

The same robber ran around the corner again, only stopping halfway.

"Wait, I just went through this. What are you?" He asked only to disappear in a flash moments later, once again leaving behind the same glowing white liquid that disappeared.

Pater sprinted around the corner to stab a guard in the neck, his blood rushing as he moved the blade upwards into the skull of the guard. Looking to his left Pater saw a rifle pointed at him.

Golden dust flew into the air and everything reshaped back into the same golden hall. The soldiers ran around the corner, pointed their rifles and fired.

Stepping left Pater could feel the heat as the plasma bolts flew past his head and disturbed the black aura, blood seeping from the aura, Pater was filled with new bloodlust, his eyes shifting from purple to red.

Winding his arm up he threw the knife at the blue soldier, hitting the soldier in the arm, the rest of the soldiers stared at their squad leader in shock at Pater's deadly accuracy. Sprinting at the soldiers as fast as he could Pater jumped on the squad leader, ripping the knife, he slashed at another soldier's neck, killing them while they crumpled to the floor, blood spilling out onto the floor. Grabbing the rifle out of the nearest soldiers hands, he fired the weapon at the soldier farthest away, flipping the gun so held the barrel, he beat the soldier who he swiped the gun from to death with the butt of the weapon, her skull cracking and shattering, blood and brains exploded from out of her mask.

Pater stood up and stared at the last soldier, his eyes wide with fear and horror, he turned around and bolted as fast as possible.

Pater ran to the soldier catching up to him with no problem, he grabbed the collar of the soldier's vest and used little to no strength to throw him onto the floor.

"No! Please-" his voice cut off as the knife was shoved down the throat of the soldier, blood filling his mouth and engulfing the knife and Pater's hands.

Standing up, Pater strolled down the hallway and up the stairs at the end, each step echoing up the spiral staircase.

Pater finally reached the door he wanted to walk through for so long, after years of tracking and years of dying, over and over and over, he was at his destination. Grabbing the handle he slid the golden doorway open to see a lady rummaging through her desk.

"Ah, I assume you got the totem back, yes?" She asked, distracted, not noticing him or the blood.

"Vannessa, it's me." Pronouncing his identity she stopped and stared him her smile of joy and happiness fading away once she saw him.

"Y-y-you touched the Death emblem didn't you?" She questioned, her voice filled with sorrow an obvious lacing of fear in her question.

"It showed me what the purpose of living is. I'm here to kill you, painfully and slow." He laughed as he remembered the countless people he slaughtered to get here.

"Please, I'm your sister, don't do this. Please!" She cried, tears rolling down her cheeks, she pulled a plasma pistol out from under the desk and pointed at it him.

"You don't have the strength to pull the trigger." He mocked, closing the door, he took another step closer, a small electrical sound split the air.

Everything once again turned to dust before reforming back together, he was closing the door again.

"What?" She yelled, her voice cracking and trembling.

"You can't kill me and if you do, then I'll just come back, till I get what I want," Pater said, his voice filled with excitement.

I'm sorry.

We're not really sorry!
