Jack's POV

" So are you gonna kill me or are you waiting for an invitation? Don't you have to kill me now that I've seen you and what you did to your victim?" she said as if excepting her fate.

Wait, she wants to die? But why she seems like an average girl to me. What could be so bad that happened in her life to want to die? I don't know what's wrong with me, it's almost like I pity her. But something tells me she's different from the rest of the girls I've ever met.

"Why do you want to die so badly?" I finally asked. "It's not like anyone would care or notice if I was gone anyway. So I'm doing the world a favor and ridding of myself" she said as tears started to form in her eyes. I was shocked with what she said, but something within me took control and embraced her. I pitied her, I felt bad for her. Someone so kind and innocent shouldn't go through what she has, she shouldn't want to die.

"I'm sorry. I can't kill you, there's something about you that makes you different from the rest. You're a flower that I can't let wilt away" I said with care a compassion. She looked up at me a smiled as I wiped her tears away.

" What's your name?" she asked as I finally let go of her. I felt so empty without heron my arms, it's like if I let go of her then she'll disappear.

"My names Eyeless Jack, but my friends call me Jack. What's your name?" I asked. " My names Lydia Morrow, but you can call me Lyra" she said with a smile spread across her face.

Wow, even her name was beautiful. she truly was a flower that stood out from all the rest. I had a feeling that told me that I needed to protect Lyra. She needs to stay with me and stay by my side forever. she must be mine, no one else can have her.

" That's a lovely name you got there, Lyra. If you don't mind me asking but may I walk you home tonight?" I asked nervously. " Well actually I don't have a home anymore, I just ran away from it and I have no where else to stay" she said while rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly.

Perfect! This is my chance to get with her. She can live with me until she finds a new place, or even better develop feelings for me as well.

"Oh. Then would you like to live with me? I have an extra bedroom in my house that no ones using, I wouldn't mind at all" I said. "Wow really?! You're to kind, thank you so much!" she said as she hugged me.

" It's no problem, really" I said. "Now let's get going, I'm sure you must be exhausted" I said as I started walking towards the forest with Lyra not far behind.

" But what about my clothes and stuff?" she said with concern." We'll get them in the morning but for now let's just get you settled in" I said as I intertwined my fingers with hers and made us stand closer together.

As we walked through the woods together I finally had the chance to examine her better.

She had shoulder length brunette hair and blue eyes, that just seemed to have a tint of gray in them. She seemed to be at least 18 and about 5'4, while I was 20 and was 5'7. Her body was amazing, she had a hour glass figure and a great personality. I'm so grateful that I met her.

I couldn't believe that my first thought when I met Lyra was to kill her. I imagined her in a pool of her own blood and her kidneys cut out. But now I'm here walking her to my house hand in hand.

I was the happiest I've ever been in years, and it's all thanks to Lyra. My heart was pounding in my chest as I thought of Lyra and I as a couple. I think I'm in love with Lyra.
