All around the regions children at 10 leave their homes to begin their first journey. They are given an option to put their schooling on hold for a couple of years, only to resume when they feel that it's time to step into adulthood.

Experts say that this will allow the children to grow and explore outside the boundaries of the school walls, to gain a unique perspective of the world and to start maturing into themselves.

'But how many of these are actually true?' Timothy can't help but wonder. At the age of 10 - looking around at his classmates playing like a horde of wild Mankeys at a banana market - how many of them actually know what they want to do when they start on their Pokémon journey?

He knows that the teachers have been preparing him and the rest of the class for this since the middle of last year. Survival tips, team bonding sessions and classes on budgeting are just some of the few topics that came up.

"Hey Tim!" A loud voice came from up front, a boy knelt on his chair waving in his direction. "Want to join us? We are discussing about some of the battle tactics that was used in last night's League tourney!"

"Ah, sure! Coming!" Timothy stood up and quickly made his way to the front, joining his group of classmates in their debate.

Hearing the points raised, he could probably guess the few who would excel Pokémon Battling. It takes a certain kind of spark in order to make the correct snap decision in the heat of battle. It is also something that he knew he did not have.

No doubt, Timothy was extremely apprehensive about his upcoming journey. He knew that this would also be one of the last times where he saw the entire class together in this manner. Some may go off to pursue League Tournaments or Grand Festivals and never find a need to return to school, others  may eventually return when they felt that their journey has come to an end... but even then, no one could tell when that may be.

'I would just need to make the best out of this...no matter what happens. It is meant to be a learning journey after all,' a small smile lingered.

'Although I have to admit. I can't wait to get my first Pokémon tomorrow!'
