Yanking the material of her mother's skirt the night before Halloween, wheelchair-bound Hannah Linstrum begged her mother to go trick or treating with her friends. But as a worried mother, Eliza. Linstrum didn't want her daughter to go out without her supervision and also had to take care of Hannah's baby brother Jonah at the same.

But little did both mother and daughter know that her father, Frank, and his friends hatched a plan as he overheard Hannah's plea and thought it over. He didn't want to see her cry, so he had to do what he thought was best.

Since it was too late to buy Hannah a Halloween costume, Frank decided that he would come up with something quite unique in his garage. Who said you cannot make a priceless costume yourself?

All he needed was some cardboard, paint, markers, masking tape, and some measuring tools. And he also asked to borrow Hannah's wheelchair for it would be part of the project as well.

Frank's idea was that he was to make a wheel ... one that he saw on TV. It was on a game show called "Wheel of Fortune". All Hannah had to do was to dress in her very best dress so she could be the gameshow's hostess, Vanna White. And his wife could do the same to accompany her. As for Baby Jonah, Frank had a little surprise for him too. A bow tie! Thus, he could be the youngest Pat Sajak in the neighborhood. Now, both of them would be able to accompany Hannah as they go trick or treating.

With a measuring tape and a large can, he was able to cut out a wheel that he would attach to the back of Hannah's wheelchair. And since it was Halloween, each wedge of the wheel would not have dollar amounts, but to give a good scare for the neighborhood kids. He also made a pointer, so when the wheel was spun, where the pointer landed on was their dare.

When he unveiled his finished projects with the help of his friends, Hannah was ecstatic. She wobbled to her bedroom that night and with the help of her mother, she wore her best princess gown they could find. As for Jonah, Eliza and Frank put a small tux on him with the added bow tie. The parents also wore matching attire to compliment the children's costumes and soon they were off to go trick or treating with the rest of the neighborhood kids. Hannah took her Halloween bucket with her, hoping that she could fill it with a lot of treats!

And during the Linstrum's first stop, the neighborhood bully, Marina, shook Hannah's hand for the first time to congratulate her for having the best costume in town! But Hannah made her spin the wheel of misfortune where she landed on ... [Please see image above to find Marina's fate!] --> Answer: You spin me round (like a record!

Trick or Treating Prompt:

A kid/teen in a wheelchair wants to go trick or treating. The mother doesn't know whether that's a good idea, but the dad disappears into his workshop for days on end. When the day of Halloween arrives, he presents the coolest costume of the block, a ...

Describe what the dad makes as a costume! Does the child persuade their parents to go trick or treating? Tell us what happens next?

Above is a caption of a child, named Macy, who is in a Wheel of Fortune Wheel Chair costume, as I'd imagine Hannah would be in.

Youtube video: You spin me round (like a record} by 80's band Dead or Alive, <--- what a name!

I picked the Youtube video as it always makes me laugh! Just look at the hair! And my bullies always used hairspray that made me cough! So instead of revenge, I'd make you dizzy like vertigo!
