The first day you saw Gonta was while you walked the hallways of Hope peak's Academy you noticed this tall, muscular, and dangerous looking man who looked as though his uniform shrunk in the wash. He also had a case of resting killer face. You took a mental note to stay away from him as best you could, because the last thing you needed was to be beaten to a pulp by this red eyed intimidating man. You went through your normal classes and then came the time for culinary basics. The day before, the teacher announced that a new student had changed into this hour due to a schedule mishap that needed to be fixed. You wondered what mishap could it possibly be in order to be placed in this specific culinary class, there aren't any too difficult of classes going on at this time. You walked into the cooking lab wondering who the new student would be joining your class, only to see the intimidating man standing there with a black apron and the biggest smile while he is holding a bug that he found among the fruits.

At that moment you realize that he's the new student in the class, no matter he wasn't at your station so your mental note wouldn't be disregarded. There was no need to worry about dealing with him even if he was at your station because, he was very preoccupied by little bugs he'd find in random locations, which seemed very odd. However, you got to your station and by the time class began, you soon realized that you were the only one at your normal lab station. You began to feel the anxiety kicking in. All of your group members had dropped out, and you would be reassigned to a new group. All of the the other groups had the maximum of people needed, but the "group" of the one person you didn't wish to cross paths with at all was the only group able to take you. He was alone and needed some sort of group and noone was volunteering to be in his group. He didn't seemed too bothered, but that's what tugged at your guilt and heart strings was the fact that no one wanted to be by him. You crumpled up your mental note and strode over to him at his station, he looked up at you slightly surprised.

He held a tiny pill bug and set it in a jar he found nearby and looked at you and smiled. "Uhm... Gonta's name is Gonta Gokuhara, Gonta's talent is Ultimate Entomologist." Gonta stretched out his hand, and you flinched out of fear of being hit by him. "Gah! Gonta sorry for scaring! Thank you for cooking with Gonta!" You think about how he speaks like a caveman, but it's rude to stand their blankly looking at him and not introducing yourself. "I am (y/n) (l/n), I am the the ultimate (y/t). Uhm, if you don't mind me asking, why are you in this class all of a sudden?" Gonta jumped slightly and smiled sheepishly with a slight blush. "Gonta not very smart. Gonta have trouble with understanding smart classes. Gonta like cooking though, and Gonta think it be useful!" "Wait what do you mean you don't understand the smart classes?" "Gonta not get al-je-bra, or ing-ol-ish. Gonta cook though!" As he explains his situation you feel bad for thinking he is a meathead who picks every fight. Your thoughts were interrupted as you began listening to Gonta speak again. "Gonta think cooking help with becoming true gentleman! Cooking be very gentlemanly!" At that very moment you now understood that he wasn't going to hurt you, or any one probably ever. Gonta may look intimidating but behind all of that hard imitating shell, is a fragile and loving little bug.  

(this was my very first x reader so I'm trying my best, along with the fact I want this to be a little slower and realistic instead of rushing straight to the romance. I'll start the next chapter soon and there will be some spoilery thing about the free time events in the following chapters.)
