The week was passing by in a blur and I found myself focusing more on my studies. Avoiding Cole's intensive gaze as possible and fought the urge to talk to Zayn about the situation was hard today. When we met up at the Bee's yesterday he explained to me why he didn't show up at school. I just nodded and continued eating my ice cream though. I knew what Cole told me was getting to my head and I was trying my hardest to ignore the thoughts. After we had our ice cream we went to the park that wasn't too far and we sat on the swings and talked.

We lost track of time and before we knew it, the sky was dark and it was around 11. Zayn made me smile that night and laugh so much, my stomach was on fire. It felt good to laugh like that for once.  And it was in that exact moment I decided I would drop the topic for good. Zayn and I were friends and if he wanted to tell me or thought it was important to - then he would. right. And Cole? Well I guess I would be avoiding his stares for a long time because I wasn't going to stop talking to Zayn just because of some warning from him. I was gonna drop it.

It was Thursday evening and I was sat at my desk reviewing some biology notes for my exam next week. I checked my phone and it was already 5:20. Reviewing some more and deciding it was fit to stop and take a break- I jogged downstairs to the kitchen to make myself a sandwich. It was just me and my brother home as my mom and Michael went out to treat themselves to a fancy dinner. They left money for us to order in but I wasn't in the mood to call and wait so I settled on a sandwich.

I placed my slices of bread in the toaster and waited till they were ready. Busying myself by taking out the sausage, cheese and garlic spread I placed them on the island. Slapping the last slice on my finished sandwich, I grabbed a Coke from the fridge and walked into the living room to watch a movie. The living room lights were off - the only light coming from the television screen.

"Little sister, having movie night without me." my brother's voice mocking sadness spoke.

My annoying brother sat down next to me, raising my legs up and then putting them on his lap to make more room for himself. A loud groan escaped my lips followed by an eye roll.

"You have a tv in your room Travis." I grumbled stretching over to get my Coke.

"Yeaaa I know that but let's bond baby sister."  Travis took some of the blanket and wrapped it around his frame - a sheepish grin on his face. I'm not gonna lie and say a grin wasn't on mine either. I still loved my bro bro.

"Good morning." I turned around but was already nodged in the shoulder by Zayn. I had just gotten out of brother's car  so we were in the parking lot .

"Ow and good morning." I smiled and continued to approach the school with hiim at my side.

"Here you go, so I was wondering." he began-handing me a cup of coffee.

"Oh thank you so carry on." I began to drink the coffee a satisfied smile on my lips.

"Remember I told you my uncle has this restaurant, well I wanted to know if you'd like to join me tomorrow night."

The coffee was still at my lips when a few spilled because of my choke. Embarrassed, i stopped wiping the sides of my mouth with my sweater in hand. Zayn asked if I was okay but I saw the laugh threatening to come. ugh.

The reason for my choke if you didn't already know was because my little mind was overthinking maybe? was this a date? it can't be, it's not like i like zayn... we just became fr-

"As friends Mikayla." he chortled patting my back and walking ahead to the school doors.
