“The way to read a fairy tale is to throw yourself in.” ― W.H. Auden

Fairytales are stories about faraway lands filled with princes and princesses, as well as magical romances. There are imaginary creatures and not so nice witches; there are heroes in shining armor and damsels in distress.

Most fairytales are silly stories made for children to read at nighttime, where others disguise a dark and horrid secret. But as with all stories, they are formed from a grain of truth.

This story - as all stories should – starts with ‘once upon a time’. It is the tale of a peasant whose nose is either in books or covered with soot, and a prince whose life is more than what meets the eye. The question is, dear reader, will this fable end with a happily ever after?
