This story is about a boy who is struggling to find himself who must find a way to tell his family and most importantly his crush the biggest secret in his life that he's gay. But with so many fake people around him he doesn't know who he can trust.
After school Cameron waited outside of the school doors in his car scanning the area for Hazel's high ponytail and pink ribbon. Hazel had been looking in Cameron's last period before she went outside, Cameron honked twice Hazel saw his bright red Jeep "hey " Hazel says hooping into the passengers seat. "hi" Cameron said annoyed the drive to Maggie's was awkward they barely even talked
"so... you and Melissa have became very acquainted i see", "yea" Cameron replied confused if the remark was sarcasm or genuine. Once they arrived at the cafe Cameron had seen the boy from lunch sitting in the booth that he usually sits in (the one closest to the door because Cameron is afraid of being trapped if a robber comes) "Cole! fancy seeing you here haha i didn't know you were into 90's aesthetic cafes" Cameron said as he and Hazel sat their booth. "what football players cant have personalities too?" Cole replied "n-no i didn't mean it like that i just meant-" Cole interrupted Cameron "i know im just busting your chops dude chill" Cole said with a light smile. Cameron starred at his perfectly lined and pearly white teeth and masculine facial features in awe.
"so... can we order or what" Hazel interrupted the silence, Cameron sat down and mumbled "sorry". "whoa you're crushing hard on Cole" hazel said with a mocking chuckle "am not!" he replied "if you say so" she said. They ordered the usual a beagle and a iced coffee along with doughnut holes " so what happened between you and Melissa Haze i thought you guys were cool?" Cameron asked. " i thought we were too" she began "but she has been acting really shady, besides i never really liked her i just pretended for you" Hazel said whilst flipping her hair behind her shoulder. Cameron was uncertain where this jealousy was coming from Hazel has always been so secure with herself it isn't like her to act like this
The next day Cameron woke up and started to the kitchen Lilly and Adam had been eating breakfast "hewwo cammy" Lilly said with a smile although she was already 8 her slight speech impediment was still adorable to Cameron. "hi sissy" he said waving, he grabbed his backpack and walked to the fridge in search of an apple " what happened yesterday between my ex and Melissa Adam asked with a concerned look although him and Hazel has dated years ago Adam still feels the need to ask about her every now and then. "nothing major" Cameron replied he knew what Adam was capable of when someone messed with one of his friends or family. Cameron started out to the bus and began reading his diary.
school that day felt weird he hadn't seen Hazel at all and Melissa seemed to be distracted by her boyfriend well at least that one she had only greeted Cameron not even asking him how his day was. Cameron was getting worried it was already fourth period where would he sit at lunch today? of course Melissa offered a seat at her table he sat beside Cole again, Melissa watched as they talked sharing occasional laughs about how hard they're classes were after lunch Melissa thought it would be a good idea to play match maker so she talked to Cameron "you know he likes you right?" Melissa said, she knew that Cole was probably as straight as they come but she still went along with it "yea he is always asking about you" she continued before Cameron could respond "not now Mel you play too much" he walked off with Melissa's words stuck on his mind
What Melissa had told him bothered him the rest of the day "how could he like ME of all people i'm not even a girl how could he want me" Cameron mumbled to himself as he walked home "he has been strangely nice to me lately tho-" he interrupted himself "DON'T DO IT CAM don't fall for this boys kindness he's just being nice don't be crazy" Cameron repeated to himself as he walked into his house upstairs and down the hall to his room where Hazel had been waiting.
"hey cammy" Hazel said as he threw his book bag onto his bed and placed his hands right above his hips looking at Hazel sideways. "what are you doing here Haze" ... "duh its the night of the party" Hazel said with a smile " i'm here to dress you" Hazel had been in the fashion club and her style was impeccable she could rock a hoodie on the hottest of days and a crop top on the coldest so without any hesitation Cameron let her into his closet and she began looking through his clothes like a hound "ew" , "this is cute but not for the party" , "what the-" , is all Cameron heard from his closet

now only one thing left to do head to the party "you're driving" Cameron said to Hazel as he hopped in the passenger seat when they arrived you could music from the party a block away "damn" Hazel said pulling into Mellisas huge driveway, as soon as they walked in it was already a mess.
