The beginning
"Ashley?" my mom says faintly. "Yeah," I say pulling my head away from the TV to face her. "You have cancer." she forces out of her mouth as if she couldn't breath. I look away back to the TV, hiding any and all emotion. I turn the TV off and stare at the black screen. I suddenly become impaired of all senses and sit on my couch. "The doctor called with the... er, in news." my mom says. For once I had no say in the change in my life.
