I'm glad you stayed

As the months passed, Jeongguk's Alzheimer's seemed to be improving. At first it wasn't a big change but at some point, Taehyung noticed that Jeongguk hasn't forgotten anything in over two months and he couldn't be happier.

Their relationship has also been better than ever. They started going out on dates after they confessed to each other about their feelings and just after the third date, Taehyung already asked Jeongguk to be his boyfriend. Five months have passed since then and their relationship was going steady.

Jeongguk spent most of his time at Taehyung and Jimin's apartment and was thinking about moving in but at the same time he didn't want to leave his roommate Namjoon alone. Taehyung and him have been trying to set him up on a date with one of their friends. At the beginning Namjoon was kind of confused with them but after a short time he has been going out on dates almost three times a week.

It seemed like everything was finally going well for Jeongguk. Not only did he find himself a beautiful boyfriend who cared about him and made him feel happy but also did his disability start to improve. The only things he ever forgot were phone numbers or addresses. Names or places weren't hard for him to remember. And he also had no trouble remembering where he put things and where to find them. It felt like he could finally live a happy life, or couldn't he?

It was the evening of their 6 months anniversary. Taehyung and Jeongguk were hunched up together on the small couch in Taehyung's apartment. They already watched movies like The Notebook but were getting tired of the cheesiness and decided to watch something else. Taehyung took the remote and typed in Kimi No Na Wa and leaned back into his boyfriend's touch when he pressed play.

They both loved watching anime. Jeongguk always begged Taehyung to watch that one Pokémon episode with him when he felt sad and Taehyung always made Jeongguk watch his favourite Sailor Moon episodes. And every now and then they would just cuddle on the sofa, watching Studio Ghibli movies while stuffing each other's mouths with fruit or other snacks.

"Did Taki just drink Mitsuha's spit?" Jeongguk asked and scrunched up his face.

"Don't tell me you think it's disgusting," Taehyung laughed, raising a brow. "You always get my saliva in your mouth when we make out you idiot."

Jeongguk huffed. "That's different! He's drinking it. Don't you think that's gross?"

"I mean, he's doing that to save her life." Taehyung shrugged and moved closer to his boyfriend, moving his arm around Jeongguk's waist and pulling him as close as possible. "Wouldn't you do that to save my life?"

It was silent for a moment. Taehyung gasped and hit Jeongguk's shoulder.

"Ouch! What the hell-," Jeongguk started. "What was that for?"

"You were thinking for too long," Taehyung answers and Jeongguk rolls his eyes. "I thought you're my boyfriend? You're supposed to love me and do everything to make me happy." He sits up and turns to look at Jeongguk, who was shaking his head. Taehyung pouted and crossed his arms. "Wouldn't you do anything to save my life, Gukkie?"

Jeongguk sighed and turned his face. He looked straight into his boyfriend's brown eyes and smiled. "I'd do anything other than drinking your spit. It's nasty as hell."

"You're lame," Taehyung said and placed his hand on Jeongguk's thigh. "Come here, I wanna cuddle."

Jeongguk gave Taehyung a shy smile and moved so that he sat on his lap. He let Taehyung roam his hands up to his neck and play with the little hairs. Jeongguk giggled and laid his head on Taehyung's shoulder. Taehyung kept moving his large hands over Jeongguk's body, letting them hover over specific body parts because he knew it would drive his boyfriend crazy.
