A/N: This was written in February, even before I saw Black Panther, but since I'm not publishing it until now, I'm changing the movie to Infinity War. Don't worry, there aren't any spoilers for those who want to watch it but haven't yet. You should as soon as possible, it's SO GOOD!!!
Mary's POV
John, Morgan, and I are going to see Infinity War and then to eat a nice dinner. Then, we'll come back to my house and play board games while we turn on another movie or show in the background.
Since we're going somewhere nice, I put on a semi-fancy dress, some jewelry, and, for once in my life, make up. My dress is a bright turquoise, long sleeve dress with a thin, gold chain necklace that has a heart on it covered with fake diamonds. My shoes are long, light brown boots and flesh-colored tights. I even curled my hair a little bit. It's probably too nice for a movie theater, but it felt right, for some reason.
After I walk over to John's house, we're going to pick up Morgan in his car, and head to the theater.
I knocked on the door and let myself in.
"I'll be down in a minute," he called from above.
I sat down on the sofa while I waited on him.
I heard him walking down the steps before I saw him.
I got up and turned around.
He was still on the steps when he saw me and he stopped dead in his tracks. "You look really pretty," he had a small smile on his lips.
It was too hard to hold my blush. "Thanks," I tried to hide my face so he couldn't see how red it was. I had a smile on my lips, too.
"Don't hide your face," he started continuing his descent down the stairs until he was standing in front of me. "I meant what I said about you being pretty."
The blush only got worse.
What's going on? Why am I blushing like a fifteen-year-old right now?
Once I got control of it, which, thankfully, didn't take too long, I looked back up at him.
"There's that pretty face," he smiled again.
Oh, no, cheeks, you stay the exact same color. Thankfully, they did.
"You ready to go?" He asked backing up a little bit.
"Yeah," I responded, still lost in that moment.
He offered me his arm. "M'lady."
I looped mine through his, a smile on my face.
"By the way, you look really handsome." I was finally able to breathe and properly take in his outfit of a long-sleeve, button-down with stripes on it, his nice khakis and black dress shoes. He even tried to tame his red mane.
"Oh, thank you. It took me twice as long as it usually does, twenty minutes instead of ten, mostly because of my hair."
He opened the door to the house and car and we drove to Morgan's in a comfortable silence.
We rang the doorbell and she called, "Coming!"
She opened the door and we said hi.
"You guys look really great." She said.
"Oh, thank you. You do, too." John said.
She was wearing a long black skirt with a long-sleeve white shirt and a necklace that had a short gold chain with a cross on it. Her shoes were black heels.
