There he was, a limp body on the ground, hole in his chest, heart missing.

I stumbled back from the body, trying to find something to clutch onto before I fell. Were they here, were they real? Am I asleep or was I ever? Questions racked my mind and the overwhelming feeling of dread stared down at me. Like I was hungover, the room started to spin and I drew breath faster and faster, shallower and shallower still. The walls felt as if they were being drawn closer in on me and I was trapped, helpless.

I was tried to hold it together but I was glass; I shattered.

My eyes rolled into the back of my head as I fell back, breathing my last conscious breath of this mornings math class.

Unknown POV

We got word that there was going to be a disturbance from one of the enemy tribes in the high school today, but we never expected this.

How they could just come, in broad daylight with no craft or stealth and rip out a teachers heart from his chest, clenching it as it took it's last, sorrowful pump, before being devoured and shared by all of them.

Why here? Why now? Why in front of 30 teenagers? This particular tribe used to be incredibly hard to track or even have a glimpse of, let alone be in the same room as them. Their work is getting sloppy, desperate and we need to know why.

They entered the classroom dressed as their usual selves: badass, stylish, sexy. Before the disaster happened, I noticed a girl in blue jeans and checkered top who look at me straight in the eye. Straight at us. We stared back and her cheeks flushed a slight red colour as she looked away. We looked at each other, amazed. At that moment Only ones like us can see us, but from our temporary abilities we could tell she had no clue what was going on and who we were. For her sake, we needed to keep it that way, just for a while. Or at least Until her 16 birthday in 7 days. Learnt that from her too. She likes horses, her home, her bedroom and a I picked up a disturbing sense as well. Death. Someone close. Someone she will never forget and never stop missing. Her...mother.

After the tribe's invasion, the girl started having a panic attack and fainted. We couldn't leave her, not like this and the way she saw us. I caught her before she fell and carried her out of the classroom.

"How are we going to worm our way out of this one then?" My friend asked,

"Got ourselves stuck in a pretty big nest hey?" I replied, carrying the girl out of the doors.

Chloe's POV

Darkness surrounded me as I felt warm skin against mine. It held me tight as I slightly opened my eyes to see an incredibly blurry version of the two boys who sat next to me earlier. Before I could put up a fight or ask where they were taking me i slipped back into the realm of unconsciousness.
=======================

My eyes slowly opened and shut, trying to adjust to the light. The wider the opened, the clearer everything got. I managed to make out some suspended rows of light above me, attached to a metal roof. It looked like a warehouse, only filled with some furniture, enough to hold someone who came and went as they pleased. Travellers maybe. However I noticed chains and metal collars that looked like they went around the next, waist and head. The one that went round the head had spikes in it, which would perforate the skin. Is this some kind of a torture chamber?

I sighed in confusion and worry and due to the fact that all of me felt like I was on a circus ride,an inescapable spiny one.

"She's awake" I heard someone say. Dragging my hand up to stroke my head, as if it would soothe the pain. My eyes drifted to the side to see one of the boys who I saw in class sat forward on a chair. I furrowed my eyebrows before it hit me. The horrific memories of my teacher, and the strangers were shot through my mind.

My thoughts were broken by the other boy walking over and feeling my head with the back of his hand.

"She's hot." He said.
"Chloe can you hear me?" The first boy asked,
"I'm Liam, and that's Ethan"
"What? What am I doing here? What happened, was it real?" I blurted out.
"Yes. Unfortunately it was. we wipe biped's memories if they have been involved in something like this but usually we don't have to because they aren't. You, on the other hand aren't a biped are you?" Liam asked
"Bipeds? What? What's happening?!" I replied.
'She doesn't know anything, I knew she didn't.'
This confused me even more because no one opened their mouth, like AT ALL. the boys just looked at each other.
"What do you mean? I don't know what? And I don't know if you are doing a ventriloquist act or something but can you stop, it's scaring me."
Ethan and Liam's eyes widened and mouths dropped as they turned heads to meet eachother's gaze.

"What are you?...." Ethan asked, Almost rhetorically.
