Oh my god... oh my gosh!!

“Mom! Dad! Anna!!” My weak legs run through the woods lost in search of my family. Where are they!? I’m so scared.. I knew we shouldn’t moved! We should’ve stayed in L.A and avoided this shitload of a mess we got ourselves into. I tried to protest my sister, and my family, but... I failed. Failed miserably.

As I ran I didn’t see the outgrown root sticking up from the ground right in front of me so of course, being me, I tripped over it. My weak legs sunk into the ground and I brace my hands on ground to keep from completely tumbling over. On my hands and knees I cant help myself from the sobs escaping me. I’m so scared that something happened to them. Something happened to my sister. I wouldn’t be able to live if anything happen to her knowing full well that it was my entire fault. She’s my baby sister... she’s only 9 months old.

Now, as I sit here on this muddy ground, I cant find the will to go on. My baby sister... she counted on me and I let her down. My father and mother put Anna’s life in my hands and I threw it away with my selfishness and carelessness. I was so st- stu- stupid!

“ANNA!!!” I scream out loud, my sobs getting closer, when I hear a scream in the distance. Only one person in this entire forest is capable of making that sound. I’m on my feet immediately and start running towards the heart aching sound.

... Oh my god... “ANNA!!!!!!!!!”

“Mom, I don’t want to move! I want to stay here where all my friends are. I ‘ll have no one over there.” I complain as my mother continues to pack our stuff. I refuse to bring out my bags in hopes my protests will work and we can stay.

“No Michael!” She exclaims completely exasperated. Running a hand over her face she lets out a long sigh, “For the last time, we are leaving. You’ll make new friends as soon as we get there, your very likeable and a good boy. Now continue to be a good boy and get your bags like I asked. Do not make me repeat myself Michael.”

Grumbling I storm inside my house and grab my bags from the side of the front door. I almost jump when my father’s hand suddenly drops down on my shoulder. Turning around I find him pushing my baby sister in my arms. “Michael, take you sister.” He requested handing a sleeping Annabella in my arms. Despite having trouble with carrying both my bags and Anna, I smile down at her and kiss her cheek while walking out of the house. Fixing her securely in one arm, I toss my bags on the ground next to my mother before jumping in the car without eye contact with her.

After buckling Anna into her car seat, I plug in my headphones and stare out the window, avoiding my mother and father as they try to start conversations with me. I’m too pissed at them. They don’t consider my feelings when they move our family halfway across the country. I barely found out we’re moving 3 days ago!! I had to say goodbye to all my friends and girlfriend. Tatiana was very upset about my going and I even tried to ask my parents if I could stay with a friend or Tatiana. Just until high school is over. But no! Because they are my parents and they are, by law, destined to ruin my life. Now it’s just me and Annabella.

Leaning my head on the headboard, I close my eyes and relax... Soon I drift into a dreamless nap.
