"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me." I'm sure many people have heard this saying, but it's not entirely true. Words are like sharp knives slicing through confidence; they rip through people's self-esteem like sharks during a feeding frenzy. Words are dangerous baseball bats that knock people down with a single blow.
By calling someone named, or telling them to kill themselves, or joking someone in front of others; you are the one holding the knife that cuts through one's confidence. You are the one pulling the trigger and destroying every ounce of self-esteem they have in then. You are the reason why they hate who they are, why they're ready to give up.
Your vicious words make living life a nightmare. Everyday it gets harder and harder to wake up and continue life. They have lost their true selves inside this dark care engraved with every word you've said to them, taunting them. These words remind them of all there imperfections, remind them of every mistake they have ever made. Telling them that they are worthless.
Thanks to you, they no longer have the motivation to do anything. Things that were once so simple have become so hard. Can't even look in the mirror without feeling disgusted with themselves because of all the things you've said. Terrified to walk down the halls because they never know when you're going to attack. You are the reason why they are tied of living. Think about what you're going to say to people before you say it. Your eyes can end someone's life.
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can also hurt me. Sticks and stones break only skin, while words are ghosts that haunt me.
