Wine About It
Yongguk x Himchan
Fluff, slight angst
*third pov*
"Fuck, empty!" Himchan cursed, shaking the glass bottle upside down as he hoped there was some magic somewhere to make more wine flow. He wished he was Jesus for a minute so he could turn water into wine. "Dammit I just wanted to drink tonight.." He sniffled, rubbing his teary eyes. "Fuck, there has to be a store open."
He quickly pulled up his maps on his phone and searched for the nearest wine store. There was one less than 10 minutes from the house he shared with Jung Daehyun, and he hurried to slip on a pair of slides and grab his keys, rushing outside.
"Please be open.." He cried, biting his lip to keep him from sobbing in the car, blinking quickly to clear his vision from blurry tears. He pulled into the parking lot and threw the car in park, just barely turning it off before he jumped out and quick-walked inside.
Himchan stalked up and down the aisles, looking for the wine with the highest alcohol percentage, ready to just give everything up. "Hello, is there anything I can assist you with?" A deep voice interrupted his frantic searching, almost causing the bottle to slip from his shaking hands. "Oh my gosh.. D-don't sneak up on people like that.. And I just need more wine, I r-ran out. S-something with the highest percentage if possible.." He explained, stuttering over his words.
"Um, well okay. Let me show you what we have, there's not many options because we're not a large distillery. Follow me," the man explained, motioning for Himchan to follow him. Desperate for wine and because the unnamed man was extremely attractive, he followed, picking at the sleeve of his sweater.
"Here we are, these are the highest wines we have. If you have any questions, please let me know," he said before walking off to give Himchan some space as he made a decision. "Um, thank you..." He whispered, carefully taking a bottle in his hand to read the labels.
He took a few minutes to carefully analyze each option when his vision started getting blurry again. Trying to blink the tears away, he failed, and a loud CRASH echoed through the store. "S-shit.. I-I'm so sorry..." His facade quickly fell and he burst into sobs, the glass shattered on the floor just like his heart in his chest.
The unnamed man came rushing over with cleaning supplies, and gently took Himchan's arm to guide him away from the mess. "Um.. Sir, it's okay, it was just an accident," he reassured Himchan, who was trying to hide his tear-streaked face behind sweater paws.
"Yongguk, take him to the back room, I'll get someone to clean this mess up." The manager walked over, rubbing his temples. Yongguk gently tugged on Himchan's wrist, pulling him through the store to the 'Employee's Only' room.
Silence stilled between the boys, save for Himchan's hiccups and sobs. "Uh.. So I eh, it's okay? Things will be okay?" He scratched the back of his neck, playing with the ends of his hair. "N-no it's not! He fucking broke my h-heart and said th-that he never fucking loved me! We were together for five years!" He blubbered, leaning against Yongguk's shoulder. Yongguk stiffened at the touch, but relaxed shortly to properly hold Himchan in his arms.
"I'm sorry about the wine..." He whispered after a few minutes. "It's not really a problem, the wine wasn't that good anyways," Yongguk chuckled, a pink settling on his cheeks. "I prefer a sweeter red wine, and that one was very bitter and smelled like rotting feet."
Himchan giggled, soft and sweet, and Yongguk felt his heart warm at the sound. "That's disgusting, how could they sell that? I like bitter-sweet red wines, but not ones that smell like feet."
Yongguk laughed louder at that, head thrown back and eyes shining joy. He took a few calming breaths, bright smiles being flashed towards Himchan. The younger almost melted in Yongguk's arms, chest fluttering. "Well, there is this wine tasting I'm going to tomorrow night, we can try different, hopefully, non-feet-smelling wines. Would you like to accompany me? I can pick you up and we can go to dinner?"
Himchan gasped softly, barely audible, and his ears flared red. "Um, that sounds wonderful. I live just down the road, I can meet you here? Or, um, I could cook back at my place? I found a new recipe for garlic butter chicken and pasta I've been dying to try."
Yongguk smiled again, this time directed at Himchan. "I'll definitely take you up on that offer then. I'll come by around 5? The tasting starts at 7:30, and takes about 45 minutes to get there," he explained, gently brushing a stray piece of hair from Himchan's eyes.
"Th-that can be arranged. C-can I get your number then? So I can text you my address?" He quickly added on, fingers tingling as the nervous butterflies flared up in his stomach. He hasn't felt this feeling so strong since his now-ex-boyfriend and him had started dating. (a/n himchan was definitely in love with his ex so obvs he would still get flustered and all around him, but throughout the years, the feeling relaxed. Now, it's coming back for yongguk, but it's been awhile since he felt it so strong. Hopefully this keeps any confusion at bay)
Yongguk took Himchan's phone and added his number, his own phone dinging in his pocket after he sent a message to himself. "There, now I have your number too. Unfortunately for me, I have to get back to work, so I'll see you tomorrow." Yongguk smiled and leaned down slightly to brush his lips against Himchan's cheek in a gentle peck, and Himchan had to force himself to not melt at the touch. "Good night beautiful."
"G-good night.." Himchan stuttered out, taking in deep breaths to calm his nerves before purchasing a random bottle of wine and walking back to his place, a red blush and radiating smile on his face.
a/n should I make and post a second part to this?? It would be their wine date.
