Chapter 3
New York.
A week after the awkward revelations, Faith knew she had to stop going out with Daniel. Not like they were going out in the first place. She just needed to stop doing whatever she was doing. Faith's brown hair cascades down her back. She wore a red, sleeveless dress that complimented her curves.
Her dad and Sara had planned on going on their friend's son's graduation party and had informed that it was mandatory for both Daniel and Faith to come along with them. They think it would do well for their relationship, and whatnot.
Faith walked into the living room and sat on the crème couch, waiting for her dad to be finished. Daniel sat next to her, both of them haven't spoken at all since they found out they were stepsiblings. Every once in a while, Daniel shoots her his famous friendly smiles, and she just melts.
She had to admit he was good looking. He was the kind of guy everyone found cute, and he was also kind and very smiley. After the minutes of silence radiating in the room Jeff and Sara were finished.
"Are you guys ready?" Jeff questioned.
"Yes, dad," Faith said, annoyed. "We've been waiting for quite a long time." She rolled her eyes. She had curled her hair since it was a special occasion. Okay, maybe not special for her, but she curls her hair when going to parties even to a stranger's graduation party.
They walked out of the apartment and Jeff drove to their destination. "Wait until you meet Jared, Faith, you have a lot in common." Sara said, facing Faith, shooting her a smile.
Was she trying to play matchmaker? Faith thought.
"I agree," Jeff said, his hands never leaving the steering wheel. "If you're interested in him... I wouldn't mind."
"Dad please," Faith complained. "That's disgusting."
The last relationship Faith had was sophomore year until junior year. She loved him so much, and he loved her no less. Until an accident ruined their relationship, she hasn't completely moved on over him.
"Your last boyfriend... Andrew, right?" Jeff asked. "He was a nice boy, what happened between you guys, anyway?"
"Jeff," Sara scolded. "You're making her uncomfortable."
They stayed silent for the rest of the car ride. Faith felt a sudden ache in her chest. Her dad had reminded her of Andrew, she wanted to cry but it'll ruin her make up. She didn't want to look like a clown.

"Jeff!" the bald man greeted. "I'm so happy you could join us," he said. "You must be Faith," he guessed, as his gaze found Faith's. "Welcome sweetheart, your dad here has been very excited about you visiting."
Faith shoots him a fake smile. "Well, I'm staying here actually, I got accepter in New York University."
"Wow," the man said. "That's something Jeff forgotten to tell," he said, looking at Jeff. "Well, a teeny tiny detail is nothing. My name's Paul, and my son," he paused pointing at a skinny boy with blonde hair. "Jared, who is the graduate, of course."
"I suggest, you kids mingle with the others and leave us to speak adult matters." Jeff suggested. Faith and Daniel walked separate ways. Daniel was mingling very well whereas Faith was lost. She hardly knew any of these people.
She caught herself staring at Daniel who was flirting with a blonde girl, who she wanted so bad to be a bimbo just to make her feel better about her. They were getting awfully close, Daniel and the blonde girl. Faith could see the girl pretending to be cute with her annoying high pitch laugh. The view sickened her and made her want to walk over to Daniel and kiss him senseless.
"Hey," the host, Jared, greeted. "What is a pretty girl like you here doing alone?" he questioned, his as his eyebrows wiggled.
"I don't know, you tell me." Faith answered, annoyed.
Jared winked at her, in response Faith scowled in disgust. She didn't like guys like Jared, her dad should've known better than to fix her up with... that kind of creature. "You want to get out of here? And have some fun, together?"
"Please, I'd rather drink bleach," Faith said sarcastically, moving away from him as she felt uncomfortable. Jared dragged her arm causing her to screech, "Let go! You're hurting me!"
"Oh please," Jared said. "I know you want me."
Though it was in public, nobody heard her. Maybe it was because the loud blaring music from the stereos, she wasn't sure. "Get your hands off her!" Daniel warned. His friendly smiley look had disappeared. His eyebrows were furrowed and eyes were glaring at Jared.
"Woah," Jared said, putting his arms in the air. "We were just having some fun, weren't we babe?"
Faith was disgusted. She felt like it was her fault, maybe it was the dress, maybe the dress was too revealing. "The lady here didn't look like she was having fun." Daniel pointed out.
"Well we were," Jared defended. "And you ruined it."
"Come on, Faith," Daniel said, facing Faith who looked helpless. "Let's go, I'll find us a cab." He held her hand tightly; she'd never felt safer she liked the feel of his hands and hers as their fingers intertwined.

As they arrived at the apartment Faith stayed silent, she was still a bit fazed by Jared's actions. Her eyes weren't focused and her curls were disoriented. She cried silently in the cab because of her dad's reminder of Andrew. Maybe she's feeling a bit over emotional because of that.
"Faith," Daniel whispered. "Are you okay?"
Faith nodded as a tear escaped her eye. "I don't buy it," Daniel said. "You can tell me what's bothering you, Faith," he continued, cupping her cheeks. "Don't cry Faith." He whispered as he brushed the tears off her cheeks.
His face got closer to hers, until their noses were touching. His hands reached her neck, Faith closed her eyes, as she knew what was happening and she wanted for it to happen so badly. He got closer, and kissed her. The kiss was passionate, and rough at the same time. Their tongues glided, Faith's stomach was turning in the best way.
They broke the kiss, breathless.
