The journal (*READ DESCRIPTION*)

CHAPTER ONE!

the two best friends Lily Burnside and Charline Kane walked to school chatting about Lily's brother that went missing a few years ago. " you miss his don't you?" Charline asked in a concerned tone Lily nodded "yeah. today is the day he went missing" she said as they crossed the street to school. the two girls got there early just to avoid people, lily didn't even wanna come today but she felt like she had to. so as the two got there Lily and Charline went to Lily's class first and she sat at the back of the room. then Charline gave Lily a huge hug and she made her way to her classroom. all alone she had to walk to the creepy hallway. she shivered in discomfort, the hallway was colder then normal today. "creepy" she whispered to herself. as she walked down the hall she felt a slight pain in her chest. she just shrugged it off thinking it was just nerves. she made it to class and scrolled through social media till class started. finally the bell rung and class started.

after class she walked to the store and lily texted her to come to the library. As Lily walked into the library she greeted the librarian and walked to the back corner of the library. she looked around, something felt off.... she searched the bookshelf's and found something....odd. it was a black and white journal. she flipped to the first page to see if it belonged to anyone and found there was at one point a name in the "this journal belongs to" but it was scratched out to the point of no longer being able to read it. with a curious expression she texted Charline to hurry up. right as she was about to press send she heard the library door open and got a text. it was Charline "where are you?" the text read. "I'm at the back" she responded. few moments later and Charline came up to her and sat down across from her. Charline noticed the journal. "its mid way through the year did you just now get a daily journal?" "its not mine I just found it." lily whispered. "well who's is it then? they might want it back." Charline said with a raised eyebrow. Lily opened to the first page. "oh.." Charline said as she reached for the journal. lily gave her the journal. "there's only one way to find out who's it is then." charline said as she flipped to the first entry. as she read her face went to a shocked expression. "what?" lily asked. Charline gave her the book, as lily read it she also went into a shocked expression. "what should we do with this?" lily said in a loud panic. "do about what?" a boy said walking up to them with a concerned expression. "OH UHH WE WHERE TALKING ABOUT GRAVITY FALLS." lily said in a panic to hide the journal. "then why are you trying to hind that journal from me?" the boy said raising his eyebrow. "uhh good question.. yoU SCared me" she replied quickly. "uhh ok then weirdo" the boy said shaking his head walking away. "well then, THAT was rude!" Charline rolled her eyes. the two opened the journal and started reading again, slowly realizing they had a murderer's journal! seeing the date it was around the time lily's brother was in the school. "OMG MY BROTHER PROBABLY KNEW THE MURDERER AND DIDN'T KNOW IT!! MAYBE THE WRITER KILLED HIM!!" lily panicked, "oh calm down lil. I doubt it, they never found his body and assumed the janitor did it because he was the only other person in the school at the time your brother and the girl disappeared. they did find the girls body locked in the janitors closet but not your brothers. so yeah it was the janitor." charline blabbed on. "then where is my brother char?!" lily asked. "nobody knows, maybe this journal will help us." charline smiled. "I really hope your right, we are lucky to both have a spare period right now anyways so lets do some research into this....." lily let out a sigh. Charline took out her laptop and logged on. she opened a chrome tab and began her search. the two did a ton on searching the internet but found nothing. they spent the period trying to find something in the journal and online but no clues finally the bell rang and they went to lunch. the two walked to the cafeteria together get their food and went to their normal spot in the hallway. where the anime fans sit and talk about anime. its the only hallway the two felt... not left out. the two though this time where quiet today. the whole group was in fact. the atmosphere of the school was overall heavy. some people knew why though. the others just felt....off. of course the two friends ate lunch and finished. charline pulled out her phone and her and lily watched some videos from lily's favorite youtuber, "the sims supply" aka James turner. this made her smile a huge grin. after the second video the bell rung and they finished the school day.

lily walks outside the school and waits for charline. finally charline walked outside with headphones. once she saw lily she walked to her and the two walked away from the crowd and charline finally took off her headphones. "man I hate crowds" she said as her put her headphones in her bag. the two friends walked home. the day shifted from sorta sunny to grey, it looked like it was gonna rain. they could smell it in the air. finally they reached lily's house. "message me if you need me lil" charline said as she hugged lily and walked away. lily just nodded and walked inside. she took off her shoes and ran upstairs. her mom didn't mind because she knew what was up. lily decided to watch a movie to try to get her mind off of the day. she turned on the TV and found a DVD called "inevitable" and started watching it. about half an hour in she started tearing up, soon she was full on crying into her knees. the movie ended she didn't notice till a few minute after the title screen music stopped. she looked up then reached for her phone and called Charline. the two decided to plan a sleepover that weekend.
