Chapter 9 - A Kiss With Mr Ex
"It started with a whisper and that was when I kissed her and then she made my lips hurt...", the song blasted loudly as I got ready for school.
After we went to mom's grave, we spent a few more weeks 'bonding' and then we had to go back to school shopping. I bought loads of kneaded erasers, they make me less bored during lectures.
Kyle parked his car and we walked to our lockers. I looked around for Ash, apparently, Kyle still didn't know about our break up.
no sign of him, great!
I smiled happily and skipped to class. And then, I bumped into someone, a guy with leather jacket.
I looked up, and nearly had a heart attack. His eyes still full of mischief and his smirk still pasted on his lips. I stepped back and he went closer.
"What are you doing here, Nick?" I asked coldly.
"I'm working here as the new janitor", he replied sarcastically. I folded my arms and he raised his hands in surrender. "I'm schooling here." My jaw dropped to the ground and I ran away like literally ran away. I hid in the janitors closet and cried.
why is he here, why?
I heard footsteps coming closer. The door opened and there stood Kyle and Flora in each others arms.
I stood there wide eyed and Kyle blushed. "I'm s-s-sorry." I stuttered awkwardly.
Flora patted my shoulder and said, "No, no. I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"For dating your brother."
say what
I looked at Kyle and he just had a blank expression.
"Oh wow. I shall be okay with you dating my big brother." I smiled proudly and motioned for a handshake.
I marched off to the restroom and stayed there playing with my cellphone. Just 5 more minutes to English Literature.
RING!!! The bell rang just in time and I walked lazily to class. I sat at my table and put my head down. I felt a tap on my shoulder and sat up.
Ash stood beside me looking hot as always with a big box of chocolate decorated with cats and bows.
I raised my eyebrows and eyed him suspiciously.
"What do you want? Everything's over between us."
His eyes softened and there was a hint of disapointment.
"I just wanted to give you this," he held out the box and put it on my lap. "Sorry about that night, it was a freaking mistake! I'm sorry. Can you please get back with me, give me another chance?"
"You expect to buy my love and forgiveness with a box of chocolates? C'mon honey, you've got to be kidding me. You were making babies with the bitch and you dare ask for another chance with chocolate?! Wow."
With that, I grabbed my stuff and sat at the back beside an empty table. Mr Stewart came in just in time with a guy trailing behind him.
"Good morning class, please welcome our new student, Nicholas Smith." Mr Stewart led him to the front of the class to let him introduce himself.
"Hey, I'm Nicholas but just call me Nick. I used to live in the same town as Marilyn over there," he pointed over to me and I just waved lazily. "And yeah, I'm still single and ready to mingle." He winked to the girls and I snorted. The player in him never has changed.
