Sadie sat at the dining room table watching Aunt Bea wash the numerous dishes in the sink. She almost felt a bit helpless by not being able to pitch in. She was just so used to helping out her Step dad and her step brothers.
Aunt Bea just started humming a tune quietly while washing the dishes. She seemed so at peace just humming along. Sadie started tapping her toes along with the tune.
Then, Sadie heard someone playing the old piano in the living room area.
"Aw, that's probably Miles," said Aunt Bea, "you should go in there and introduce yourself, you probably about his age or so, if I had to take a guess."
Sadie smiled at her hostess, she didn't want to make Aunt Bea mad, she was so used to getting her step dad angry at her for no reason, so she got up quietly and quickly from the kitchen to the living room area.
She walked into the room and she saw long cocoa butter hands and a guy with a brown derby hat on his head with a tan suit playing the piano.
She really didn't want to disturb his playing , so she just stood there for about a minute or two, and then a gravely dark voice said "You just gonna stand there, or are you gonna tell me what you doin' in my Aunt's house?"
His gray blue eyes were quite striking against his cocoa butter skin and dark hair. Sadie felt a strange sensation like tingles going through her. She breathed in and out slowly to stable herself.
"Oh sorry, I didn't want to disturb you. I'm Sadie, I'm gonna be staying here with your Aunt for a little while. I guess you're Miles?"
Miles shook his head up and down and took his right hand off the piano to shake Sadie's hand.
"Yes'm I'm Miles, you be pretty enough to stay anywhere you like, why you stayin' here with my Aunt?" His smile was perfect with all white teeth.
Sadie blushed and took his hand to shake but then the tingles intensified.
