The spitting image of everything he hated shot back at him. The mirror was large, it showed almost half of his messy room. With books and clothes strewn about, it was a wonder he could ever find anything. However, it was the the center of the mirror that had his attention, and that same spitting image. Hair, dark brown almost black, and eyes like chocolate. A not so perfect complexion but that was typical of teenagers, acne and all. His bottom teeth weren't straight like his top ones and he knew he was destined for braces. It was early so he didn't have a shirt yet. He was kind of lanky, so thin that his ribs could be seen. His favorite Iron Maiden shirt fixed that, and he threw on a flannel for good measure. Bare arms were for confident people and assholes. He put in his earbuds and ran down the stairs, sipping the coffee his Mum had left for him before she left for work. He threw on his backpack and bolted to the bus as it pulled up. Sitting alone, he listened to his usual playlist and stared out the window as the world passed him by. Then he saw it. School. Half the time it was prison, the other half salvation. The rusted wrought iron gates that have been standing for way too long ominously stood at the entrance. He walked through the glass doors and stood in the lobby for a brief moment, hoping that for once someone would come to talk to him. Nothing. As per usual. Maybe he could find Devon in the crowd. He might be an ass, but he's got a good heart. Nothing. Why bother getting his hopes up? He walks to his first period, which is also his most loathed class. Art. The very word is depressing. He couldn't paint. Couldn't draw. Nothing. Except......
