Chapter 1

It was silent, the night was chilly and no one dared to go outside. Lights went off in houses, signaling that it's nighttime. A lone boy shivered, huddling by a lamp post.
No one knew about this boy, where he lived or who he was.
The boy shivered again, looking around at the houses. His teal eyes gleaming under the lamp post light.
He glanced around one more time and called it quits, letting sleep wash over him.

Birds chirped loudly, waking the young boy instantly. He rolled around and heard crinkling noises as he did so. He looked at what it was and grabbed it, In his hands was a tarnished piece of news paper.
he looked at it in a weird way and started to read the paper, it had a lot of advertisements on it but they were really old though.
One advertisement caught his eye, some local place called Hospital.

He didn't quite understand why, but he was attracted to it. Carefully he got his phone out of his pocket and dialed the number. Pressing the phone up to his ear, he waited for someone to pick up. But instead,
"The number you dialed has a automatic voicemail." Really?

He sighed and tried again, letting it do its thing. This time he got something, "Hello?" A smooth baritone voice said.
"Uh hi? I seen a old advertisement about your place...are you still hiring?" The boy asked, there was silence on the other side.
"Yes, we're still hiring, why?" The voice said curiously.
"I'd like to work there." The boy said confidingly.
The person went silent for a little bit and then returned, "Gotta name?" They said.
The boy looked dumbfounded, "Um yeah...its..." Truth is, he didn't have a name, "Eric, Eric alroy." Eric said.
"Well mister eric, please stop by some time to this place so we can get you a position here." The voice spoke, just about ready to hang up.
"Wait!" Eric said, "What?" The voice questioned.

"I gave you my name, what's yours?" Eric said questionably, there was a chuckle.
"The names vin, happy now?" Vin said, instantly hanging up after his announcement.
Eric thought about that weird name, then again, he made up his weird name so there's nothing to compare.
