"I think this is it. The sword feels close. Ah! The battle of Killahead, of course!" Merlin set them down in the middle of a hectic battlefield. It didn't take long to find memory Blinky: he looked like a teenager, with multiple ear piercings and spiked hair like Dictatious's, who was fighting alongside him. Blinky caught his friends' curious stares and shrugged. "I was going through a phase. Dictatious never really left it, but I sort of lost interest in the piercing aspect after Aargh ripped out my earrings. Aargh licked Blinky's face, smiling guiltily. "Sorry." Blinky shook his head and started out across the battlefield. "Don't apologize, I really think you did me a favor." Claire laughed but quickly stopped, seeing Blinky and Dictatious getting closer and closer to the bridge.

Blinky watched himself when his twin was sucked into the bridge, face set blankly but the anger clearly visible. He watched himself continue fighting, tears running down his face- and then there was Aargh. This was not the gentle giant known by the humans: this was an aggressive monster, who roared and tackled the younger Blinky, cracking his head against the stony ground. Pinned, Blinky seemed to give up, staring upwards into the tooth-filled mouth above him with no reaction. The general paused, confused- shouldn't the other troll be screaming? The murderous glow faded from Aargh's eyes, and he licked Blinky's face experimentally, tasting the salt of tears. Older Blinky, watching with his friends and Merlin, gently touched Aargh's arm, knowing that seeing himself like this was hurting the big troll.

Finally, Merlin pointed to a figure slashing its way through the fight, just as the memory of Blinky and Aargh disappeared. "Deya the deliverer! One of the greatest trollhunters to ever live" Blinky breathed, eyes shining with admiration. "She must have the sword!" Merlin nodded and the memory froze. "That she does. He waved his hands around the weapon, then focused, a perfect copy appearing in his hands. "This sword won a war before, and it will do it again in the hands of Jim.

Merlin touched Blinky's head. "This might hurt a little, I apologize." Blinky nodded and a sharp pain stabbed through his head, bringing him to his knees. When he opened his eyes the battlefield was gone, replaced by familiar cave walls. Merlin was still holding the sword, and when Jim got to his feet the wizard placed it in his hands. "Use it well young trollhunter. I went through a lot to get you this." Jim nodded, but his eyes were on his mentor. "Thank you, but I think Blinky went through more. Without his memories we wouldn't have been able to make a copy at all."

With a small smile to thank Merlin, Jim, Toby, Claire, and Aargh went around the wizard and hugged Blinky tightly, almost smushing him with love. Seeing the hope on their faces, Blinky knew that all of his pain, and all of his suffering, was definitely worth it, if only for a chance.

*Thanks so much for reading! I don't know if I'll like Merlin or not but I like the idea of a little rivalry between him and Blinky. Please vote/comment! :)*
