I smirked, getting dressed in my usual outfit, being sure to attach my gun and badge to my hip before slipping into my boots and walking out the door. I locked it and got into my car, driving to work, nodding to the man at the gate as I drove into the parking lot and stepped out. Walking upstairs to my desk I ignored the others and sat quietly, looking up to see John Shaw walk in. I simply raised an eyebrow and went back to my work, glancing as he sat at the desk next to mine, sharing a small unnoticeable nod, we went to work on our separate piles of paperwork. I got up to go on a coffee run a while later and happened to catch a look at Shaw's computer screen, I didn't react to it as I continued on my way to the elevators being joined by Shaw who seemed nervous and another cop. Just before the doors opened Burke and some of his men came around the corner.
"Thought you boys left for the night?" Shaw asked confused and Burke stared at him for a moment.
"Something came up." Was all he said before the doors opened and we all entered, Shaw presses floor two before one of Burke's men reached over and pressed three. Shaw, myself and the other cop got off on floor two and went our separate ways, once outa sight of everyone and cameras I shared a smirk with the other cop and nodded my head. We both slipped into the weapons room, hiding a couple more guns on our persons along with ammo, hesitating a bit I grabbed a couple clips for Shaw's gun. Making our way back to the desks with cups of coffee, sitting down just as the fire alarm went off, I stealthily walked into the bathroom being joined a bit later by the other cop. Once it finally got quiet we crept out of the bathroom and began walking around, staying out of sight of the cameras especially. Meeting up with Shaw we all shared a smirk.
"Oh am I glad to see you two." He whispered softly and we smirked more.
"Bet so, he's got this place on lockdown, try to avoid the cameras when possible, it's how they'll track you mostly." The cop whispered in a husky voice.
"No one besides you know we're  here, we'll keep it that way for as long as possible. Here, it's a ear piece connected to a walkie talkie that has a secured line for us to talk on." I explained quickly yet quietly holding out a ear piece for him, he quickly put it in and turned it on nodding his thanks.
"Thanks for being here and watching my 6." Shaw said gratefully and we smiled small real smiles.
"What we're here for." We nodded and after a nod to each other we slipped off to different areas to try and get out of here alive. I carefully walked around avoiding the cameras as I looked for Burke's men, not seeing anyone I went up another level, coming across the other guy as we both snuck up on one of Burke's men. Knocking him out shortly after he shot at Shaw, we carefully laid him down on the stairs before running up to catch up with Shaw. Stopping as we seen Burke's back to us with Shaw using Meeks as a human shield by the elevators, we waited tensely as Meeks pressed the button before Burke shot him. Shaw shot the fire extinguisher just as the doors opened and we quickly slipped past Burke and into the elevators without him noticing. Once inside Meeks died, just before the elevators stopped, looking up we all quickly climbed up and out of the elevator before climbing the shaft up another floor and out through a vent. Sharing a look we split again, me going with Shaw and the other going a separate hallway, I hid behind Shaw just as a rookie appeared making me groan softly.
"Shaw! Have you been locked in to?" She asked nervously.
"Your not supposed to be in here."  He groaned as well, just as she noticed the blood on his pants.
"Are you okay? Are you Bleeding?" She asked nervously.
"It's not mine. Look just go find a quiet place to put your head down and stay quiet." He ordered backing away after taking her taser, and questioning her choice in weapons. He carefully backed away, until we disappeared around the corner and wasn't at risk of her seeing me. "Too close for comfort." He grumbled before we took off again, I grunted in agreement as we crept along hallways.
"Shaw, I have a friend who wants to say hi." Burke's voice came over the PA system, we froze in the hallway. "Say hello sweetheart."
"Detective Shaw? It's detective Taylor.." a female voice said unsurely.
"Tell me, how long have you been with us?"
"A month sir."
"Are ya married?"
"Yes sir, I am."
"Who's the lucky man?"
"Brett sir."
"Now Shaw if I don't see you on one of these monitors in the next five seconds you'll make Brett a widower." Burke said and we could hear the click of his gun hostler. "Five.....four....three..." Shaw stepped out into the open letting them see him. After a few moments passed we heard a gun shot, Shaw looked down and then up at the camera, great he's pissed now.
"Let's go Shaw, they're on their way here." I mumbled softly and he slowly walked back to me before we slipped away heading for the roof top, taking the other guy with us. Once up there we stayed back a ways, always within eye sight of Shaw but never being seen.
"Captain Matthews....I'm on the roof...detective Burke's dirty and I have the proof...." just as he said that one of Burke's men came around the corner and started a fight with Shaw, we stayed hidden until Shaw popped around the corner and hid his face in my chest just as the man exploded. I slowly let go of Shaw not remembering when I put my arms around him in the first place, we all three shared a look before leaving as one of the others came around the corner, I shot him in the head. We relaxed a moment before Burke came around the corner and shot at Shaw, we all ducked under one of the vents and made our way out, the other guy and I slipping back inside just as Shaw handcuffed Burke and made him go inside to the elevator. Just as the doors opened and Burke stepped in I took the card from Shaw's back pocket and replaced it with a fake exact copy, taping his ass once to let him know before I moved behind the corner again. We followed Shaw down the stairs as he went, stopping when the elevator opened, we hid around the corner and watched Shaw leave and the elevator close again. We crept closer Shaw seeing us, he winked before going down another floor with us following at a safe distance. We stoped as Burke came out of no where and held a gun to Shaw's head while Shaw held a gun to Dario's head. Being sure to stay out of sight we followed them down to a conference room, staying around the corner and listening in.
"All ya had to do was lay down the card and walk away." Burke said and Shaw smirked a bit.
"Nah I can't do that." Shaw said and we waited tensely for Burke's next move.
"You are nothing if not predictable, I'd bet it's in your back left pocket. So hand it over, or I'll shot you in the head and take it anyway." Burke said and Shaw tensed before slowly reaching back and handing Burke the card, Burke broke it before stomping on it. Looking up he smirked "Now was that so hard? Give me his gun." Burke said and Dario handed it over, only after Burke had punched Shaw in the gut and held him in a choke hold. "Two rounds, save them for yourself did you?"
"Actually no, saved one for him. And one for you." Shaw said with a smirk.
"Any last words?" Burke asked somewhat nicely.
"Yeah." Shaw nodded before getting a confused look on his face. "Wait is asshole one word or two because I don't want to spell it wrong on your Christmas card." Shaw said with a chuckle making Burke laugh.
"Now see that's a funny man, I'm gonna savor watching your head pop." Burke said and pointed the gun at Shaw just as swat cut the power. Shaw grabbed his gun and shot Dario before wrestling with Burke, finally tackling him through the glass wall. He stood and grabbed his gun before we all took off for a different area to hide in for a few, just as Shaw got a call from captain Matthews.
"Matthews?" He answered 'confused'.
"Swat cut the power. Can you meet me in the training room? At the back of the building." She asked urgently.
"Yeah I could probably make it."
"I need a guarantee." She ordered.
"Yeah I can make it."
"Good meet me in 10 minutes." She said.
"10 minutes, got it." Shaw said before hanging up, we made our way there, us falling back a bit from Shaw. We made it into the room and hid behind chairs out of sight, the other guy grabbing his phone and pulling up the video recorder. Recording just as Matthews entered the room, and pulled her gun on Shaw, I twitched to stand but didn't not yet anyway. Just then Burke came in and shot Matthews and explained his whole plan before pointing his gun at Shaw then we stood. I held my gun towards Burke and walked towards Shaw covering the other guy who stopped recording and grabbed his gun again. "Your not the only one with loyal cops on your side." Shaw smirked and I gave a sarcastic nod as the other guy stayed quiet. Just then swat came in followed by the top boss, we held our hands up and smirked as they went to arrest Shaw. "Wait. Wait. All the evidence you need is right here." Shaw said and held his phone up, Burke's voice coming through and more or less stating it was all him, once it was over no one knew what to do so I nodded to the other guy.
"If that's not enough evidence perhaps this will be." He said with a smirk and showed the video, everyone moved their guns from Shaw to Burke, as Shaw reaches down and picked his gun up. Burke growled and reached for his gun only for Shaw to shoot him above the knee with his last round.
"I'm out." He said pulling the trigger one last time. "Reigns, got your cuffs on you?" Shaw asked calmly, Roman stepped forward and held out the cuffs, Shaw nodded his thanks and cuffed Burke. "Oh and Rollins." I stepped up with a smirk. "Give boss man here that flash drive." I nodded and pulled it out of my back pocket and held it out for him to take.
"Impossible! I destroyed it!" Burke yelled in pain and anger and I laughed as Roman and Shaw chuckled.
"Nah you destroyed a fake. See when you were busy getting into the elevator, Rollins here switched the cards for me. Knowing something like that could happen." Shaw said and with a nod from Shaw we holstered our guns and followed him out, getting nods of respect from the others. Shaw held back and wrapped his arms around mine and Roman's waist, his going around Shaw's shoulders and mine around his waist. We walked passed all the cops and cars heading for the car park and his car, once we reached it we stopped and I pulled out a clip for Shaw's gun.
"Here baby." I said softly and he smiled and tossed his empty clip on the ground and put the full one in his gun.
"Thanks babe." He smiled and we all climbed into his car, relaxing a bit as he drove us home. Stepping inside we all took off our boots and headed for the master bathroom, to wash off the blood and dirt and debris.
"I vote for finding a different job." Roman said as we all got in the shower, sighing as the hot water relaxed our sore muscles.
"I agree." I nodded a bit and Shaw smiled.
"It would be nice to use my real name again." He nodded and Roman and I laughed softly.
"Some things never change Dean." Roman said as we all washed quickly and got out, putting on boxers and basketball shorts. Heading for the bedroom and laying down, with Dean in the middle of us, I laid my head on his chest listening to his heart beat while Roman laid his head on the right side of his chest smiling softly at me. Dean held us close to him and Roman and I held hands on his chest nuzzling into his neck happily. Slowly drifting into a peaceful sleep we all three mumbled an 'I love you.' To each other and held tighter.
