After what felt like a million years, I finally completed breaking my back cleaning the house.
I looked around, and if I do say so myself, the house looked pretty snazzy.
There was absolutely nothing my aunt could possibly complain about now.
Although, knowing her, she'd find at least one thing.
Anyway, it was only a few minutes after two, and I had no official plans. Especially considering I was now friggin grounded and all.
I went to the living room and turned on the television.
I really wasn't supposed to be watching TV but my aunt had been upstairs for the past hour and a half and I hadn't heard much,
so I assumed she was sleeping and kept the volume down low. After about a good twenty minutes of browsing around and finding nothing good to watch, I decided it was sneaking out time.
I had no idea where I was even planning on going, but I went upstairs to my room and looked in my closet.
Nothing but a million graphic t-shirts and band merch shirts.
So I picked a shirt I hadn't worn in a while, my black and gold Bring Me The Horizon shirt.
I put it on and tied up the back with a hair tie because it was big on me.
Then I paired it with my favorite faded distressed jeans from Hollister.
I dug around the mountain of sneakers (not one high heel. Not . One.) on my closet floor.
"Darn it, where are my Vans?"
Why was I always losing them? It's not like I had one pair.
I had like seven different pairs of Vans, all varying in styles and colors. But I could never seem to find any of them.
I found some old dirty Converse and just decided to wear those instead.
When in doubt, wear Converse.
Next, I grabbed my phone and wallet off my bedside table and - goddamn it - spotted my keys.
"Where were you bastards when I needed you?"
I put them in my pocket and then tiptoed down the hall to Aunt Regina's room.
I slowly, oh so slowly, cracked open her door and froze when the hinges creaked a little.
I could see Regina on the bed, snoring.
I stood very still for about thirty seconds and waited for her to spring up and crucify me.
She just rolled over with her back to me and continued snoring.
With an inward sigh of relief, I opened the door wider and stepped inside the room.
I made my way to Regina's bedside table and took up her clock.
It was set for four o'clock this afternoon.
I had no clue what she was waking up to do, since she had to go to work again tonight.
Probably harass the shit out of me some more.
So I just set back her clock by a little.
Just a little.
I exited Regina's room quietly and made my way back down the stairs as carefully as possible.
