I close my locker to find my best friend Stacy smiling at me. "Hey Nick!" She says. I don't really know why she calls me that... I think Nikki is a short enough name as it is. And Nick is a boys name... But I don't really mind.
"Good Morning Stacy" I respond with a smile. Tyler walks up to us, "Hey Guys!" He says as we start to walk to our homeroom class. I trip over my shoe laces and fall on my back. My books go flying everywhere. "ACK!" I yell. "OH MY GOSH!" Stacy says as she helps me up. "Ill hold these for you" Tyler says as he swiftly picks up my books.
"Thanks Ty, Stacy." "No problem!" They say in unison.
I honestly don't know what I'd do without them, "I'll meet ya in homeroom!" I say as I take my books from Tyler and dash off.
"Good Morning Class!" Our teacher Mrs. Lina says. I look at Tyler and Stacy's empty desks. "Excuse me ma'am," I say as I raise my hand "May I go get a drink of water?"
"Sure Nikki, take a hall pass."So
I grab a hall pass and walk out.
I stand there in the middle of the hallway...
And my heart breaks at the sight of my best friend and my crush kissing.
I stare and a tear drops to my cheek and then to the floor. My best friend Stacy gives me a evil smile, as she continues to kiss him. I walk away as tears of regret and sadness fall down my cheek.
I run to the bathroom and sit under the sink... And cry...
As a few minutes go by a girl walks in. She walks over to the sink and sits next to me. "You ok?" She says, "No" I say sobbing quietly.
"What's wrong?" She says with a concerned face as she wipes away my tears. Maybe she actually cares...
I get up and point to Stacy and Tyler kissing each other next to the water fountain. "My best friend is kissing my crush."
She nods and walks out. I should've known nobody cares. I peek out and see that the girl has slapped both Stacy and Tyler. Then she starts walking back, I rush back and sit under the sink.
She walks back in and walks over to me and puts her hand out to help me out. "The names Lisa, what's yours?"
"Nikki" I say with a smile.
I don't know how I've never noticed this girl, we walk back to class and sit next to each other.
