Chp 13

Nandini was watching tv when manik came and sat on sofa opposite to hers.....he was munching chips looking at the drama playing on screen whiçh nandini was watching very carefully.....he tried to focus on it and to find sth interesting in the boring drama playing on but failed to find anything of his interest..........at last he grabbed the remote and changed the channel......as soon as the channel changed nandini shouted wth manik

Ma: what......(gesturing thru his eyes).... yaar drama is too boring...i cant bear it anymore (casually)

Then he changed the channel and started listening repeat telecast of his show keenly and nandini looked at him with mouth wide open and then at the screen.......

N: u r so self obsessed with urself.....aise kon apne hi show ki repeat telecast dekhta hai(she said scrunching her nose)

Ma: self obsessed.... is that so??? (raising his eyebrow)..... well no its not like that (he completed the sentence after a pause) mein bs as a whole apni performance dekh rha tha..... u know every single person praised me bcz of this episode.....(he flaunted raising his collar while nandini rolled her eyes)

N: kia faida aise show ka jab offscreen tm log sath party karte ho....😏😏😏 i know ye sab plotted hota hai so dont flaunt in front of me Mr malhotra (she said what she believed in all those years)

Ma: ohhh hello mam....idhar hm sara sara din prep kar ke shows karte han aur tm keh rhi plotted hota......dosro ka to pta nhi atleast mera to real hota.....dont u dare say it again (throwing pillow at her which hit her face directly)

Nandini hit him in return and also snatched the remote saying still the drama is more important.....nandini again switched to the channel where drama was playing and she regretted it after seeing a romantic scene playing on the screen.....with red face she changed rhe channel but then heard manik's teasing voice

Ma: lets watch the drama nandini....(sitting beside her....he winked)

N: no (she blushed)

Ma: lets do it then (he pulled her closer to himself the same way hero pulled herione in the drama so that nandini landed on his chest...nandini panicked and tried to get up but manik kept her in her place with his arms circling around her torso.....he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and she forgot to breathe after realizing his intense look on her........)

N: manik (breathless)

Ma: yeah nandini what do u want (he said huskily with his face close to her ear.....he came close to her lips biting his own and nandini closed her eyes not knowing what else to do......his breath fanning over her neck....her heart was beating loud......but nothing happened and after few seconds she heard him saying bs itni hi himmat thi nandini she opened her eyes wide at his statement and manik swithed their positions which made it easy for him to get up.....he sat on the other sofa and said

Ma: tmhe lga ke I will force u for sth like this........(she lowered her head) jahan mene itna wait kia hai wahan kuch aur din nandini.....i will wait for the day when u will say those words.....when u will show ur consent he said in serious tone and again got busy in listening his show

N: thnku (she whispered in low tone alittle ashamed) and manik smiled in return....

At airport

Manan were waiting for the mukti to arrive from past 1 hour but their was no sign of her yet.....manik felt tapping on his shoulder and he turned around to find mukti with her hands open......he shouted muktiiiii in excitement and took her in his arms...... I missed u both said together and then started laughing at their timing......manik kissed her forehead and she rested her head on his chest lovingly feeling her brothers scent after years.....nandini smiled at their excitement....she had never seen manik so happy but how could she forget their famous bond.........mukti then moved towards nandini and hugged her excitedly....after all she was her bhabhi......while manik bent down and sat on his toes....he hugged the doll standing in front of him

Ma: hello mamu ki jaan.....(picking her up and she kissed him in return saying i missed u so so much (moving her hands in air to show how much she missed him and manik kissed her hands one by one showering her with his love.....)

In car

Mu: to manik tere shaadi bhi ho gye.......

Ma: kyon mere mein kia burai hai kyon nhi hoskti mere shaadi (he rolled his eyes)

Mu: I had never imagined ke thje bhi koi larki pasand Kare ge.... (manan stole glance at eachother bcz of word pasand.... and manik thought pasand to abhi bhi nhi karte.....)

Apartment

Nandini went inside the kitchen to bring snacks for all of them while mukti was busy taking a tour of whole house.......and manik started playing x-box with riya (mukti's daughter).....he was so busy in playing that he forgot nandini was alone in kitchen preparing snacks for them....mukti came back into lounge and saw manik more excited than riya for a game....she smacked the back of his head saying

Mu: go help her....wo akele hi sb kar rhi hai

Ma: why dont u go and help her....m busy naa (he said focussing on the game)

Mu: u want me to tell daadi that u really need to learn how to treat ur guests (sitting on sofa with attitude...she smirked)

Ma: aate hi bara bnna shuruh kar dia hai....blackmailer (he let out a frustrated breath and marched towards kitchen)

He saw nandini setting plates......he joined her and started arranging eatables in plates......they both looked at eachother and shared a smile b4 going back to their work.....

They all were on dinning table eating dinner when mukti observed manan....they both were not communicating like they should be...manik was busy with riya and nandini was eating quietly....mukti wanted to beat her brother for being such dumbhead...... who ignores such a beautiful wife she thought and then decided to talk to nandini so that she didnt feel left out......

Mu: so nandini ye zayda tang to nhi karta

Manik looked at nandini to listen to her answer and nandini remembering hsi care and luv after their marraige and she smiled while saying

N: no he is best

Ma: sun liya mukti m the best 😎😎😎

Mu: its mukti di for u......m elder than u 😑😑

Ma: whatever mukti (he teased her and she glared at him while riya giggled showing his white teeth.....)

It was night time and manan were in bedroom sitting on bed when manik said

Ma: 1 din guzar gya aur thank God mukti ko pta nhi chala about the little secret of our marraige

Manik had spoken those words but inside both became sad thinking about their relation......nandini thought that manik was being nice to her bcz of mukti and manik was thinking that like always nandini wasnt ready for their relationship.......and both lied down on bed without any further conversation but sleep......sleep was far away from them.....by that time their minds were occupied with the thoughts about their relationship
