I wake.
Drenched in a puddle of my own sweat. Gasping for air, I wipe my forehead with the back of my hand in an attempt to relieve my skin from the unbearable heat.
"Where the hell am I?" I whisper to myself, too afraid to speak loudly or call for help. Looking around the room, there is nothing but emptiness, a white open space, occupied only by myself.
I focus on my thoughts, the last thing I remember doing was playing games on my console until I suddenly passed out from exhaustion? Whatever it is, I blacked out and now I'm here but where even is here? There are no windows to look outside or even furniture, just plain walls and a white smooth floor, a blank canvas for an artist to reveal the answers? If only I was creative.
I slowly get up, cautious of the mysterious room and terrified of what could've happened and what is to come. I begin to pace up and down in a sudden heap of panic and distress.
Where is everyone?
Where am I?
What the hell has happened?
The same questions continue to repeat and overflow my mind until I start thinking of the worst possible scenarios.
I was kidnapped?
I was killed and this is some kind of heaven?
I'm in a coma?
There's something seriously wrong and this is all in my imagination?
Despite all of the horrible thoughts that contribute to my paranoia, there must be some kind of logical explanation for this, no?
I sigh heavily, trying to calm down and allow myself to think for at least a moment. If I got in here somehow then surely there must be a way out?
I analyse every inch of the walls and floors, tracing my fingers over the surfaces in hope of some kind of secret exit but there was nothing - nothing at all. I feel the blood rush to my face as I can't find any sort of escape route.
"Ten minutes remaining" a loud voice bounces off the walls, startling me. But there was not a single soul in sight nor a speaker. What was that even suppose to mean? Ten minutes left? Ten minutes left until what!?
