All I remember was the wreck we were driving into the sunset....Me and you. You held my hand as you drove. We were running away from all who wronged us. We are running, running from the things that we could never face. You with your sunglasses tinted green, me with my flower crown a childish memory. Then it hit us the blue car with bright lights. I don't remember if you were okay all I remember were the sounds. The screams. "Wake up" you were shaking me. I can't wake. You held my hand until the ambulance came and they told you that you had to go You didn't want to let go of the girl in the bloody flower crown. Like flashes of light I see all these pictures...A man leaving a woman crying. A girl curled up in the floor A boy in a waiting room. I don't know any of these people so why are three of them standing over me? No one's here for the girl in the wreck, their here to watch her slip away. You are the only one sobbing...The woman with worn hands says It's alright to let go. Is she willing to lose a child? You sat with me all night in my dreams, but they wouldn't let you in...You never slept your eyes never closed instead you whispered little prayers...I swear I heard you say "God she is beautiful while she sleeps."
