Hi, my name is Brooke and I am new to Thomson high school, my dad left me when I was 12, and my mom is in jail, I now live with my grandparents, they wanted to get away from the place I was born and And they decided to move to Arizona for a new start, and I'm half glad they did!

First day of school and I'm shaking, usually I don't get nervous or shaky I'm usually really calm and collective but I only know one person here and that one person HATES me, her name is Jessica and she has been my enemy since 6th grade, she moved to Arizona in 8th grade and she is going to be furious when she sees I moved here, what a day this is going to be.

I got dropped off by my grandpa, and started walking up the steps of the school, when someone screamed my name "Brooke?!?!?!" I swirled around and saw Jessica. I stopped dead "uh, hey um, Jessica" I said with a quivering voice.... Did I forget to mention that Jessica hurts me, she had a gang and they literally want me dead. "W-why are u HERE?!?!" She said she walked over to me "Uhh my grandparents moved here, surprise" I laughed worriedly "this is my turf" she screamed in my face, she snapped her fingers and her friends pushed me down the stairs "woah" I said trying to catch my balance I hit my head on the wall "what do u have against me anyway?" I said tears coming out of my eyes she kicked my rib with her heel "it doesn't matter right now does it?" She looked at me with a stern stare "No! Didn't think so!" I saw a boy come out of the building and look my way, he walked up to Jessica and tapped her on the shoulder "hey, leave her alone" he said "leave ME alone" she said back, she turned to face me, she kicked me one last time and I screamed out in pain.

The boy got in between us and said "seriously, Jessica stop this" he said slightly louder this time "whatever" Jessica walked away giggling with her friends, i looked at the boy in front of me "thanks" i said, "ya, are u ok?" He asked helping me up, I winced in pain. "Ya, thanks again" I said looking at him "uh," the bell rang "well um, I have to go to home room. I'll see you around?" He said. "Wait!" I called out, " can u show me where room 224 is" I smiled "I'm new, as u probably can tell, I'm Brooke" I said extending my hand out to him. "Sure" he said shaking my hand "I'm heading there now actually" he smiled , his smile was dazzling "thanks, but I never caught YOUR name" she said smiling back "oh, right, I'm Caleb" he replied. "Nice to meet you Caleb" I said looking at my watch "well we are going to be late if we don't head to class now" I Looked at him "right, let's go, it's this way" he said smiling. I followed Caleb into the school and into class, i walked into the class and saw Jessica sitting on the right side of the room, I groaned and rolled my eyes, I looked at Caleb and sat next to him in the open seat.

"I recommend staying quiet in this class, the teacher is a ticking bomb" Caleb whispered "ok" I laughed a little and Jessica glared at me, the funny thing about Jessica is that when she sees someone with Caleb she loves him and thinks he is hers but when he is just with friends she wants nothing to do with him. I saw Jessica smirk "excuse me sir but may I use the ladies room?" Jessica looked at the teacher with an innocent look. "Yes Jessica, u may" Jessica got up and went passed my desk and fell on purpose "oww.... Brooke tripped me" she started fake crying " my ankle, my ankle" she cried I looked from her to the teacher to Caleb and back to the teacher "I didn't do anything sh-" the teacher cut me off.

"You young lady are going to the principles office! What's your name?!" Mr. Gerk said "but Mr. Gerk, Brooke didn't do anything" Caleb exclaimed. "Then you could join her!" He replied, I looked up at the teacher " I asked u a question young lady, what. Is. Your. Name?!" I looked at Caleb and then back to Mr. Gerk "Brooke," I mumbled "and I still didn't do anything but there is no reason to get Caleb into this he didn't do anything" Jessica got up and faced me "ya, Mr. Gerk, Caleb didn't do anything, he should get to stay here with me, I mean the rest of the class" she said flirtatiously to Caleb I groaned, "I'd rather be suspended" Caleb said I smirked and the class laughed, Jessica stomped back to her seat remembering to put on a limp, "Caleb don't do this" I said "come here" the teacher said "take this slip" I looked at him the at the floor "yes sir" I started walking out of the class "getting in trouble on your first day of school? What a disgrace" Mr. Gerk mumbled.

I walked out of the classroom tears streaming down my cheeks, I sniffled and walked to the principles office. I got there and went to the principle "here" I said I handed her the slip, "Brooke?" She said raising an eyebrow "getting in trouble on your first day of school huh?" She said "I.didn't.do.anything!" I said getting Mad, she looked at the slip and said "it says here u tripped someone in class is that true?" I looked her straight in the eye and said "No. No I didn't, and I would never do that as long as I live on this earth" I said in a serious voice "ok, I'll let it slide this time, you are free to go back to class" I walked out of her office and tears came out of my eyes I wiped them and walked into the classroom and took my spot next to Caleb.

"Hey what happened?" Caleb said once I sat down "she let it slide" I said looking at my desk trying to hide my red eyes and flushed cheeks "why are u crying?" He said in a whisper "it's nothing, ok?" I said, Caleb nodded "okay so what your next class?" He asked "uh," I said looking at my schedule "room 234" I said looking at him "haha, me too," he smiled "can I see your schedule?" He asked "Sure, here" I handed him my schedule. "Hey, it looks like we have the same schedule, I'll show you to all the classes" he said smiling at me "thanks" I smiled and looked away 'why is Caleb being so nice to me, he is really, nice and really handsome' I thought, I laughed to myself 'I just met him today, don't get your hopes up Brooke' I thought.
