Carter's POV

"Carter?" He said.

"Austin?" I said.

I turned around and there he was. He was standing there smiling at me.

Justin stood next to me, being the overprotective friend that he is, and clenched his fists.

"Why are you here?" I asked.

"I was taking my girlfriend Brooke to meet the magcon guys. Why are you here?" He said.

"Because I took her here." Justin snapped.

"I came here to talk to you Carter." Austin said.

"Well." I said before gesturing him to speak.

"Alone." He said.

"Nope. If you have something to say to Carter, then say it right here. You've lost your alone time with her." Justin hissed.

"Okay then. Carter, I just wanted to apologize for what happend a few weeks ago. I don't know what went through my mind that made me do that to you. I want you to know that no matter what happens, I will always care for you and be there for you." Austin said.

I was shocked that Austin apologized to me. He never gives up. I'm suprised. Extremely suprised.

"So what are you trying to say Austin?" I asked.

"I want to be friends. Just friends." He said.

Justin nudged me in the side and he gave me a glare. I nudged him back and he smiled.

"Maybe." I teased.

"I'll take that." Austin said.

Austin's girlfriend came over to him and dragged him away.

"So you want to be friends with him again don't you?" Justin said as we walked back to the car.

"I don't know. I don't trust him anymore. I don't think he has changed. So probably not." I said.

My phone buzzed in the back pocket of my shorts. I took it out and I looked at the text message. It was from Taylor.

Taylor: Hey ☺️ The event is over. But tonight I was wondering if we could hang out. Just as friends. This isn't flirting 😂👌 Just friends. So do you want to? Text back when you can.

I smiled at my phone and replied back.

Carter: I'd love to. I need to get away from all of the craziness that is called my life anyways. 😂👌

A couple minutes later Taylor responded.

Taylor: I'll pick you up at 7. 👌

I answered back.

Carter: I'll see you then. 😁

I locked my phone screen and I shoved my phone back into my pocket.

Justin pulled into my driveway.

"Thank you so much for today Justin. I really owe you one." I smiled.

"You don't owe me anything Carter." He said.

"Yeah yeah." I laughed.

Justin leaned over and kissed my cheek.

"Bye." He said.

I leaned over and hugged him.

I got out of the car and went inside and straight up to my room.

Justin's POV

"He's here you guys." I heard one of the guys say.

I pulled into the driveway and I got out of the car.

"Hey man." My friend Ryan said before we did our handshake.

Everyone was greeting me and I greeted back.

My friend Chaz walked up to me. His eyes were bloodshot and he reeked of weed.

"Want one?" Chaz said before holding out a blunt.

"I really shouldn't be doing this." I said.

Ryan walked up behind me and put his hand on my shoulder.

"Relax. Just one won't hurt you man. It's not like you haven't done it before." He smirked.

I took the blunt from Chaz and I put it between my teeth and lit it.

After I finished, I grabbed a beer and sat down on the front porch.

'I shouldn't be doing this.' I thought to myself.

The beer cans were piling up beisde me.

I tried to stand up, but that wasn't going to happen.

I don't know how I'm going to make it back to my house.

Everyone here is either ten miles past drunk or higher than the sky.

I suppose I could drive home. I can still see.

I live five minutes from here. Five minutes won't kill me... right?

I fumbled for my keys that were in my pocket.

I put the key in the ignition and I drove slowly back to my place.

I flinched at the sight of headlights as I drove down the road.

I saw my house and I pulled into the driveway.

I made it home all in one piece and without getting pulled over for drunk driving.

I walked up to the door. I looked at the window and I saw that the lamp in the living room was on. I don't remember leaving the light on. Of course, as high and as drunk as I am, I can't remember a damn thing.

I turned the doorknob and I walked into my house to find Carter sitting on my couch with her arms crossed.

I think she knows something that she isn't supposed to know.

Sorry it took me so long. I didn't feel like updating last night.

Today I went kayaking with my mom and dad. I got major sunburn on my legs. You can literally feel the heat off of my legs.

But anyways, I will try to get the next chapter up by tomorrow.
