That was cue to walk in. Elliot's head snapped up, his eyes on fire with hatred. "Calm your butt down," I joked but not really joking. His face didn't change as he asked me,
"Did you hear?" I tilted my head to the side trying to portray a confused look,
"Hear what?" I asked. We had a stare off and effectually he backed off, sighing.
Ha, winner here! I climbed up the ladder to my bed before glancing down at Elliot on his laptop. Yep, same old, same old.
That night, Elliot on his laptop and me in my bed I thought about the phone conversation I had heard. If it were a book or movie, he would have a dark and hidden secret from his past. I created fantasies in my head. He was raped, drug addict, murdered someone...
The next morning I cleverly dodged Elliot's sleeping body. But he still woke up when I opened the door.
He looked somewhat normal when he woke up, shunning the light to instead burrow under the blankets.
I, of course, knew exactly what to do. This was just another part of my plan to get back at his arrogance and conceit that pissed me off.
His eyes snapped open as soon as I ripped the covers off. Soon going into focus and glaring at my triumphant gaze. Ice water would have to wait till next time.
He unwilling followed me into the kitchen. Breakfast and dinner were eaten together as a family, and he was no exception.
I pulled out my favorite cereal, Lucky Charms. All others taste bad in my mind. Elliot just looked at the cabinet, frustrated.
"Elliot, dear, your mother told us that you don't like cereal last night," my mom spoke, interrupting Elliot's search in the cabinet. He turned around, surprised, "You could have told us, you know," my mom added.
Elliot sighed, and I heard him say, "She said she wouldn't," under his breath. Ohhh...thats what he was talking about last night. He probably just didn't want to give away his weakness. Egotistical much, doesn't want to seem anything but Mr. Perfect.
Elliot looked at me with his smirk. God I want to rip that thing off and burn it in oil! He interrupted my thoughts with the longest sentence he had spoken to my parents, "Sorry, I was going to tell you," he began. He's sorry? I don't believe that for a second.
"But I do like Lucky Charms," he finished and I hissed at him. His evil true intentions are coming out.
My mother gave me a pointed look, "Share the Lucky Charms, Sage." I hugged them out last time before begrudgedly handing them out to him.
And he had already gone to sit at the table, leaving me holding out the cereal to no one. That dunce! Wait...what does that word mean again...
I grabbed my bowl and spoon and headed over. However, when I poured my bowl, there was barely any left. I gave it to Elliot questionably, but be just pored and started eating his tiny portion. With no milk. What the heck, creep.
When my mom came out she looked at our bowls, "And why does Elliot have a considerable less amount than you?" She asked me. I shed away from her untolerating gaze, "I just poured mine and gave him the rest," I got out.
She sighed, been doing that a lot lately, "Have Elliot pour his bowl first, okay?" No, not okay, I thought. Absolutely not! Ruining my life from the moment he walked in.
After breakfast, getting ready was met with dead silence. I brushed my hair again, and went into the bathroom to put on a t-shirt and shorts. He did the same after me.
The only reason the car ride wasn't awkward was the music. More specifically, the blasting rock music. We all sat listening, thinking different things and whatnot.
When we got to school, I let Elliot get out first before I slowly get out after him. I still did not want to be seen with him.
"Sage," my mother called out, "try to be nice, okay?" I raised my eyebrows, but there was no point in responding because she had already pulled away.
I caught up to Mr. Annoying and relayed what my mom had said, or at least tried to, "Hey, mom-" until he cut me off,
"I heard." That little... And how am I supposed to get along with this.
I passed the doors to the school with a large scowl on my face, until I saw Sarah. She looked between us, at my scowl and whatever his stupid face showed.
To piss her off, I smirked. This was not mean of me in any way, it was revenge. 3 months ago she had literally stolen Daisy's boyfriend. All in all, she did stuff with him, so Daisy broke up with him, and now Daisy just doesn't care about Sarah or guys in general (or so she says).
She came up to me flanked only with one of her "friends". "Hey Sage, wow you're really close with Elliot," she said, saying his name dreamily and looking back at him. I saw him twitch a bit at his name but then he turned the corner, probably going to his first class.
I could go one of two ways with this, I could tell the truth or I could annoy the poop out of her. I smiled sweetly, "I guess," *insert fake giggle* ,"he just comes to me because we're close."
Her eyes scrunched together," Reall-" I decided to pull an Elliot, aka, not caring what others think,
"Byeee," I sang out as I skipped away laughing.
And as I turned the corner I crashed into Elliot. Wait, what?
