Morning Vibes

It was nice. The sun was setting, the breeze cool and refreshing as my left hand held the steering wheel; my right hand occasionally shifting gears as my car sailed along the asphalt. The city during sunset was probably one of my favorite things, the hues of orange casting on all the buildings and roads just hit me in all the right places. It just makes it click, it's something I'll always cherish. But the thing I cherished more was the person in the passenger seat, he meant everything to me. He was sweet, and understanding of who I was, he always knew what to do if I ever needed anything. He was the coolest person I've ever known. His smile could break all my bad thoughts in an instant. It felt so unreal, being this happy, as if something was off. Like it was too good to be true.

Fuck. I hate it when I'm right.

I woke up in my bed, the beams of yellow-orange light striking my face from my window. With a deep exhale I mustered the physical strength to plant both of my feet on the floor. The carpet embraced my bare feet with a plush feeling. I looked down at them, a tear falling down, landing right next to where I had planted myself. Right. That.

A ten step trek led to the bathroom, where I had started the shower with hot water. Nothing quite as comforting as a hot shower, right? Probably. Not sure. Further research must be done. The shower was relaxing as one would guess, but it only soothes the physical state, not the mental. Whatever. The shower was fine, my clothes are a little too red today but whatever, I'm not out to be the center of attention.

The descent downstairs is probably my favorite part of the morning, a large window awaits me halfway down when the direction of the stairs takes a 90 degree turn. It's my favorite window. Because of the view? Because of the sun? Nah. Because of the carpet tower with the giant orange puffball sleeping in it. Every morning that damn cat sleeps away his problems, only waking in the presence of his meow mix. Fatass. Wish I had a life like that. Eat, sleep, repeat. Sure sounds nice, being able to do practically nothing all the time and still receive reward just for being cute. What a life.

After a hastily made breakfast consisting of cereal and assorted fruit, it was nearly time to leave. Time to start my day, just give me like 30 seconds to breathe. Just breathe. You know, that real basic stuff that we instinctively know how to do. Inhale, exhale, that kind of stuff. Alright, we're good to go. A few paces lead me into the garage, with a comically small red car awaiting me. Today is definitely a red kind of day: bright red hightops, red flannel, red beanie, and finally the hot red car. At least it matches, my black joggers compliment the black lines within the flannel, which goes well with the grey plain shirt underneath. Okay, maybe I lied a little about not caring about my fashion, but I'm still not out to impress anybody. Well that's a lie too, I'm out to impress him.
