Souls POV
Crona couldn't come read his. He said he didn't know how to deal with it. I let him be.
Tsubaki and Black*Star get there first. They are frantic and simply will not stop asking me questions about why and when. I tell them I don't know and hand them their letters. I haven't read mine yet. I don't know if I could take it. It takes moments before Tsubaki is crying and Black*Star is silent. He looks at the paper in confusion, almost as if he can't believe what he's seeing. His eyes darken. He turns to Tsubaki and grabs her hand. "She is right you know." He says, each word filled with sadness. She nods and leans into his chest.
Flames erupt inside me. Why do they get their happiness and I don't? Where is Maka to rest on my shoulder and cry? I take a deep breath and calm
myself down. What Black*Star and Tsubaki have found within themselves for each other is something only paralleled by heaven. Maybe that's how he can surpass God.
The next to show are Liz, Patty, and Kid. They are completely silent. I look at them and Liz gives me a hug. "I know how you felt about her." She whispers. I nod and sit down. This is all too much. I hand the trio their letters and lie back.
Patty smiles "She's in Giraffe Land guys!!!" She yells in excitement.
Liz crumples to her knees. She holds the paper tight to her chest and weeps. Kid comes to her side and rubs her back reassuringly, whispering soft condolences into her ear. He reads his own papers, and soundlessly cries.
The room is quiet save for Tsubaki and Liz's cries. There is no room for more noise. It almost seems like there is a large mass of oil in the room and opening your mouth would kill you.
Slowly, my friends leave and soon enough, I am all alone. I sit on the couch and take out the letter from Maka. Now that everyone is gone, I will read it.
