The first thing she could notice when the darkness in her eyes disappeared was the ceiling. So tall and held up by thick wooden structures. The ceiling itself, made out of dark rocks, glistened softly from the magic in said stone.

The second thing she noticed was the pulsing on her side, the pain coming from her lower torso after a rough kick. She groaned softly and sat up, cringing in pain at the movement.

A loud laughter resonated in the room, making her flinch again from a headache she already had from before darkness covered her vision. The laughing man, a tall dark elf with pure white hair and skin just a few shades darker than that, was currently leaning over with a sword on his hands and into the ground.

"I can't believe that was all that took for you to blackout! Where did your training go, honey? You were decent yesterday!" The slight teasing and cocky smirk on his face only made the girl angrier.

Oh, forgive me, I was forgetting about her. The young girl, a 15-year-old elf, with long and silky blonde hair and vibrant green eyes. The elven princess of the dark kingdom. High cheeks, rosy lips, just the right height to be in the standards for a princess. The heiress of the kingdom, the future of it, as marked by the tight necklace around her neck, a dark jewel hanging from it, the skin around it becoming slowly a purplish colour to better represent their race instead of the pale colour she always had.

She stood up, ignoring the pain from her side. It was the daily training session of the day, which meant sparring with her father until he thought he beat her up enough and she wouldn't wake up. "Forgive me, father, I did not get the best sleep last night..." of course she didn't, she stayed up thinking and trying out spells that could work for her benefit of escape.

An elven maid approached her, bowing her head before setting her hand on the forming bruise on her side and healing it quickly. The Dark King chuckled, a darkness in his red eyes that showed how easily he was reading her. "And why was that, dear daughter? I will take care of that if you tell me what inconvenienced your rest." He stood up back straight, looming over here, almost as a dare to truly say what was in her mind.

She understood the dangers of this man already, and she took said dare as she often now did. "I was just trying to learn how to get rid of this," she told him as she pointed to the tight leash-like collar.

The words said by the girl made every bit of fake friendliness and respect disappear from Malagar's face, setting into furious eyes. Before she could process this, he had appeared behind her and kicked her in the back, sending her flying a few feet back with a yell. The pain going through her body almost felt like lightning had struck her, leaving her shaking on the ground. She heard footsteps approach, Dark Lord Malagar's gaze on her almost burning.

She glared up at him in complete defiance. She didn't care about the pain, she could get a maid to heal her. She wanted his anger, it meant she was doing the right thing. Earning her freedom. She disappeared from sight.

Malagar shook his head, a slight glow leaving his red eyes. "You are such a brat, trying to defy me in such way. I am your father, and we have already established you would not take off that necklace. You know the importance of it, you will not remove it."

His small speech was cut short when he felt an elbow to the back of his neck. It wasn't nearly strong enough to make him lose consciousness, but it hurt nonetheless.

"I will do it, father, I don't stand by your bullshit rules, I never did."

The city of Hammerhold. One of the kingdom's biggest cities, with The Citadel itself, Winterfell and Winterhold, and various others. It was built in the middle of a desert out of sandstone and hard work. What once was a small city grew quickly, being at first the central city of the kingdom before The Citadel was built.

A few towers marked the end of the city and the beginning of the free desert. Few guards patrolling here and there. The townsfolk were able to live simple lives, with not many problems in it. Even living in a heated desolated desert, the city remained fresh and the crops planted in it grew green and perfectly edible.

Sure, some thieves and crime happened, but it happens in every city. The guards there made sure to be as well trained as possible to keep the crime down, and it wasn't hard to do.

They managed. Everybody did.
