157th in Home?! Already? Wtf this is the second part THANK YOUUUU
Also I don't really care that this has nothing to do with home it's war
Luna had always hated hierarchy. It seemed stupid. Alphas, Betas, Gammas... They were all stupid. They looked down on her: a miserable, weak Iotas wolf.
And she was weak. She had always been. But as she crept away from the Alphas' meeting, she felt strong. She felt powerful. She felt, in short, like what being an Alpha would feel like.
And, weirdly, she enjoyed the sense of power. It rushed through her veins like a river of molten gold.
Being an Alpha was supposed to be tiring. It was supposed to make you age faster and be more likely to suffer from mental breakdowns. But this... This was nothing like the tales. This was amazing.
She exited the forest and broke into a run, dashing across the ice plains. She needed to move fast. It was nearly dawn, and with dawn came territory patrols. She didn't want to be caught in Ice Pack's territory alone.
Reaching Galaxy River, she leapt across in a single bound and entered Dusk Pack's territory. Then she slowed to a trot. Dusk Pack's territory was the second-largest, and she didn't want to tire out before she got home.
Then a howl split the air. "Intruderrrrrr!"
Oh, no. She had forgotten that Dusk Pack had territory patrols at all times of the night. She turned and saw maybe 19 wolves stalking up to her, snarling. Her stomach sank and she shuffled backwards slightly. "I'm sorry..."
"Sorry is nothing to us," a grey female snarled. "You shall die for this, Avalanche Wolf!"
Luna groaned silently. Now they knew where she was from, they could wage war on her pack!
On the inside, however, she didn't really care. She was concentrating more on the fact that these wolves were going to kill her. She narrowed her eyes and looked around. They were fanning out in a circle around her. She noted their lean bodies and strong legs and decided it would be stupid to try and outrun them.
Wait a moment. Where was the last wolf?
Luna spun round but it was too late. Claws dug into her back as the grey female landed on her and slashed at her head, leaving deep scars. Luna howled in agony and shook the female off, but she knew that the grey demon would be back sooner or later. She closed her eyes and waited to die...
But then she heard howls of pain that weren't hers. She lifted her head in surprise. I- I'm OK. I'm not dead!
Then she saw the other wolves.
But they are.
The other wolves were laying on the floor. Some were still whining faintly and gripping their heads. The others had already fallen, silent and still. Luna stared in horror. Did I do that?!
And that lead to the realisation. I have Alpha Powers.
She had been feeling excited before, but now she was scared. Would she have to kill Shadow of Dawn? Every wolf knew he didn't have the Alpha Powers, but no wolf in Avalanche pack had had powers either.
Until now.
Luna hurried along home, her mind spinning crazily. How does an Iota challenge an Alpha? she wondered as she bounded forwards, leaving the wolves behind. And what power do I have?
Leaping over a scrubby, evergreen bush, she tried to kill it like she had killed the wolves. But nothing happened. She tried again. And again. And again. Finally, in frustration, she stomped on the bush...
And her paw touched stone.
Stone? Luna thought for a moment, and then she began digging furiously. The ground in Dawn pack wasn't made of stone. It was made of dirt. This meant...
Some snow fell away and revealed a huge, dark hole. As Luna's eyes adjusted to the raven-blackness there, she gasped.
It was a...
