During the first day of classes, I was always reluctant to speak, and that I think is the reason why I only have very few friends! But I don't mind as long as Adrian is by my side. He is the most loyal friend I can ever have! We have the same liking for video games but unlike me, he is good in math which is the subject I despise! Because he is good in Math, I always seek out his help whenever I'm in a "Math Disaster". He is also quite good in other subjects except Phys. Ed! Hey, we are academically different but it seems like we blend with each other well! So this year, I'm lucky enough to be his classmate because at least, I guarantee a scapegoat in Math. I am happy to sit beside him but he seems kinda down today for some unknown reason. I was about to ask him what was wrong when our adviser came inside. She immediately introduced herself without skipping a beat. Het name is Ms. Labrador and she's new. I never liked new teachers, they always seem to be clueless in the school's inner workings. But it seems like I have to manage. She said that she will be rearranging our seats later. She seems firm in her word, close to terrifying. Maybe she took confidence building classes, but I really don't know. Anyway, Adrian's mood, for some reason, upped when Ms. Labrador entered the room. I asked him why did his mood suddenly change. He said that he likes our Class Adviser and he's confident in her capabilities. I was surprised in his words since he never gave a comment about a single teacher since 1st grade. I told him we'll see. Then Ms. Labrador asked us to introduce ourselves in front of the class. Ugh. Here we go again! I say to myself. Every single year is like this, at the start of each school year, you will introduce yourself in front of the class. When I was in elementary, it sounded kinda fun! But now I'm in high school, it sounds pathetic already. I mean, I know every single persn in my classroo! and they know me! There is no need to introduce myself! I would like to argue with my teacher but she is an english teacher, and you don't want to challenge English Teachers into a debate! They'll make you regret it. So I just stay put and wait for my turn. When my turn finally came, I trembled from head to toe. Must be my natural shyness. I spoke very softly that my teacher did not understand, so she asked me to repeat it again. Oh my, I think. Will this continue? So I just said my name out loud, so everyone can hear and sat down immediately. I can feel my ears burning. Adrian even ran up to my aid and asked if I were okay. But before I can answer, Ms. Labrador blurted out a few remiders on the school rules then handed a copy of our schedules, then quickly left the room while frantically looking at her watch. Must be a time-oriented person. I think to myself. I looked at my schedule and scanned my subject teachers for the year. I was okay with the other subjects, I even felt relieved that I've already met most of them, but when I looked into my Maths teacher, I turned pale. It's Ms. Alvarez. She is the one students have been blabbering about, as the most terrorizing teacher in the school. I looked at Adrian, he is sweating heavily too. He seems to be equally surprised and terrified at the same time. Wow, it's only the first day of school and a lot has happened already! Too many surprises for me to handle! I just wish that tomorrow will be much much better because if not, I can suffer from severe stress and depression just because of school!
